April Graney is a children’s author and Bible teacher based in Oklahoma. She serves at Cookson Hills, a home and school for at-risk children, and is the author of The Marvelous Maker and The Marvelous Mud House, an ECPA Christian Book Award finalist. April holds a degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and has raised five children with her husband at New Life Ranch, a camp and retreat center where they’ve served for 20+ years.

The book’s vibrant illustrations are created by Ukrainian artist Yana Kozak, who now resides in France. Yana transitioned from journalism to full-time children’s book illustration and brings warmth, humor, and heart to every page — inspired daily by her daughter and a love of storytelling.
