After growing up in South Carolina, Jairus moved to London to do a masters at the Royal Academy of Music. He made his West End debut as a swing in The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre) before show jumping straight into Tina: The Tina Turner Musical (Aldwych Theatre) where they are playing Raymond Hill whilst also covering Ike Turner.
