This chapter contains a female song about her search for her lover at night, followed by King Solomon's wedding procession. Altho honestly it reads more like a jilted lover tracking down the man-hoe who ghosted her after a night of wild reverie, and then her dragging him by the ear to her mama's house and forcing that fuckboi to marry her. Which tracks, because Solomon bedded and wedded a ton of babes. Dude was drowning in poonanny. We got to hear about his purple wood, his sword, his post, his [insert phallic symbol here]... and YUP this is still an erotic poem. Gross, dude! Keep your junk to yourself!

This chapter is a continuing dialogue between two lovers who stink good at each other under the super sexy apple trees. He sticks his dove in her cleft and then they go at it like gazelles. When they're done, they go on a fox hunt. I don't care what you say — this is absolutely not allegorical.

Solomon's Song of Songs is an erotic poem, unique within the Hebrew Bible in that it shows no interest in Law or Covenant or the God of Israel. It doesn't teach or explore wisdom ; instead, it celebrates sexual love, as one hot girl asks one fine fella where he parks his goats so they can meet up during the heat of the day for a secret boom-boom tryst under the trees. Husband goes absolutely ballistic over the hypocrisy of this book's inclusion in the Bible.

so it's time for Husband and Wife to play another round of a game called You're Always Wrong.
You may be shocked to learn that we've found a few contradictions in the Bible. No wonder it's so easy to cherry-pick quotes to back up any claim!

In which "Solomon" (wink-wink) urges us to enjoy the good things life has to offer before we get to old to shake it like a Polaroid picture, since we have no way of knowing how or when we're gonna kick it. We think this is actually a good philosophy, and the book itself was surprisingly enjoyable with its dark tones and heavy symbolism. Wife murders a song from Pete's Dragon (1977) and we both fail the quiz. But it's all meaningless anyway so who cares?

Another book of the Bible to mark off our list! This chapter harkened back to the book's opening chapters with all its depressing imagery, and honestly, we're here for it. Grasshoppers draggin' ass, birds tired of tweeting, grinders not... grinding... It's a lesson against growing old. Or else it's a lesson that youth fades. Or wait, maybe it was a lesson about God, but neither of us was paying attention to that part.

These people didn't know anything about wind, wombs, or Waffle House, but yes, let's trust their so-called wisdom. You wanna know what's meaningless? A book that encourages you to own slaves and stare at the sun.
