We just finished reading 1 Chronicles, so it's time for Husband and Wife to play another round of a game called You're Always Wrong. You may be shocked to learn that we've found a few contradictions in the Bible. No wonder it's so easy to cherry-pick quotes to back up any claim!

Husband and Wife recap 1 Chronicles, a book which itself is a recap of Genesis—Kings. The first part covers genealogy; the second part covers David's reign; and the third part covers stuff that never happened: David's preparation for the New Temple. We're now halfway done with that lying liar, the Chronicler!

Husband and Wife cover questions about why the Chronicler was so in love with David. Turns out the Deuteronomist and the Chronicler were writing at cross purposes, to entirely different audiences. While this makes sense, history's speaking, it doesn't excuse the fact that the Chronicler is a total snooze-fest who is all up David's butt.

Solomon Succeeds David as King (cont.) / The Death of David.

In this final chapter of 1 Chronicles, the Chronicler leaves out many important stories of figures such as Bathsheba, Joab, Abishag, and Adonijah. He exaggerates David's deeds to the point of stupidity, and overlooks any potential failings. The Chronicler really sucks at chronicling Chronicles.

Husband and Wife cover 1 Chronicles chapter 28:

Solomon Succeeds David as King.

The Chronicler is still out there lying his lies about David's accomplishments which would literally have had to happen from his deathbed. Pretty sure dude had a boy-band poster of David over his bed. The undoing of everything we've read thus far is excruciatingly infuriating!

The Officers of the Kingdom.

Mr Earthy President Boss-Guy Man has SO many employees -- more numerous than all the stars in the sky, if that liar the Chronicler is to be believed. But they only have to work for one month out of the year, just like NaNoWriMo participants in November. Speaking of which, hit me up if you wanna be my writing buddy.

The Porters and Overseers.

The mildly capable Chronicler discusses several gates and the capable men who kept them. Some were more capable than others and they got to count the money.
