Salt Strong Fishing

It's tournament time! In particular, the Bassmaster Redfish Cup tournament (one of the biggest redfish tournaments of the year by far).

Listen in as Capt. Mike Goodwine (aka Blackneck Adventures) joins us to share how it went in his first appearance in this tournament.

Mike shares the lures that did best, how he found redfish in a brand new area (and brand new state), along with some other great redfish tips.

Enjoy and tight lines!

In this episode, we go out on the water (LIVE) to fish a row of docks at low tide (one of our favorite times to fish docks) with a new weedless shrimp rig.

We end up catching snook, grouper, and even a nice redfish.

We'll share the best way to use this new rig, the tackle, and how to find the best docks (that hold all of the fish).

Tight lines and enjoy!

I can only imagine Satan is smiling when he sees all of the hate and division caused by politics. Sad indeed.

What's even worse is that most of what is argued about is completely useless and irrelevant (and certainly not something that you'll remember in your later years).

So listen in I share a better solution...

In this episode, Captain John Halkias (aka Jigging Jerks) joins the Salt Strong podcast to go deep on his experience targeting blackfish with light tackle. Tog is typically considered a heavy tackle target - however Capt. Halkias has his gear and techniques outlined so everyone can effectively target tautog with light gear.

We cover gear, spots, hooksets, and tactics in this one. If you've ever wanted to catch these hard-fighting fish on light gear, this is the episode for you!

In this episode, Bama Beach Bum joins us to share the exciting news about the new "beach fishing small group" he is creating inside of our community.

He shares how he'll be doing weekly forecasts, sharing what's working now, and all of his best tips (the ones he can't share on YouTube).

Listen in and we can't wait to see you inside his group!

Over the last couple of years we've had a TON of requests for more pier fishing tips (and a Pier Fishing Mastery course).

Well, I'm pleased to announce that not only is it in the works, but we filmed a couple terabytes worth of content (that is equivalent to 60+ different videos on pier fishing).

Listen in as we share the lessons learned from the recent filming of the Pier Fishing Mastery course.

Tight lines.

The stats I share about loneliness in this episode are scary. Even worse, the number of people (especially older boomers and seniors) who are without a spouse is going up every year.

So listen in on what we can do to help reverse this course.

Captain Scotty Sevins (Sevins Fishing) joins the Salt Strong live stream and podcast this week to dive into everything you need to know to target striped bass in the backwaters. Capt. Sevins discusses spots, lures, techniques, and electronics. Anyone hoping to target stripers (rockfish) in the back country will benefit from this podcast.

Luke has been crushing the grouper and cobia on his last few trips, so we had him on to share the special rig he's been using.

He also shares how he's finding the grouper honey holes along with all of the other tackle.

Tight lines and enjoy.

In this episode, we head out early before work and absolutely crush the speckled trout.

Listen in as we share how we find spots like this, the best tides to fish them, and what lures/rigs we like best.

Tight lines and enjoy!
