Beza, Acton and CPAC

This week is a journey through time from Beza, Acton and CPAC. I was down hard last week with a sinus infection but CPAC was a great distraction between sneezes, snot and sleep. Since most of you have no idea who Beza is you may think the infection caused some sort of delirium. While Acton is not a household name either except for his quote about ‘doing nothing.’

Theodore Beza

Just a note on who Beza was and then I want you to take in the two references that I am using for this program. For a more complete simple biography I suggest you follow the link on Monergism concerning Beza. Here is an excerpt:

‘Beza, He succeeded to the high position which Calvin had long held, not only in Geneva, but in the Protestant world; and was, for a period of above forty years after Calvin’s death, the most prominent and influential theologian in the Reformed, as distinguished from the Lutheran, church…

He exerted great influence for a very long period in most of the Reformed churches, and in none more than in that of Scotland. He advised and encouraged our own great Reformer, John Knox, in the whole course of his arduous struggle with the Church of Home,..’

This long dissertation on Beza ultimately discusses the great influence he had in regard to all that was occurring culturally, politically and ecclesiastically during the Reformation. All in all, he and others set the tone for the Christian Resistance to tyrants.

My focus for this weeks program is the first question in Beza’s 1574 work ‘On The Rights Of The Magistrate.’ Simply put for this introduction, If the elected representatives and especially the bureaucrats aren’t God, well, they thinking and believing themselves to be doesn’t make them correct and therefore, they most likely are creating policy, law and rules that are contrary to the God of the Bible. If that is so they are tyrants and despots. Do you obey them ? or … NOT.

Lord Acton

Most are aware of a quote from Lord Acton regarding ‘good men doing nothing.’ As written at On Line Liberty Fund regarding John Emerich Edward Dalberg:

‘Lord Acton (1834-1902) was one of the great historians of the Victorian period and one of the greatest classical liberal historians of all time. His theme was “the history of liberty” and even though he was never able to complete his magnum opus of that name he did write numerous essays, book reviews, and lectures. He also was the inspiration behind the multi-volume Cambridge Modern History.’

For this program I focus on the beginning of his work ‘The History of Freedom in Christianity.’ I do not take us far into this work in that the section on Constantine as well as the first couple of pages in enough to compare our modern political leaders in their pursuit to align with Christian in such a manner as he did:

‘…in adopting their faith, intended neither to abandon his predecessor’s scheme of policy nor to renounce the fascinations of arbitrary authority, but to strengthen his throne with the support of a religion which had astonished the world by its power of resistance, and to obtain that support absolutely and without a drawback he fixed the seat of his government in the East, with a patriarch of his own creation.’

Cabals and Intrigues and Great Awakenings

Cabals and Intrigues are in-your-face active in every corner, shadow and building top in these United States.

I want to emphasize my statement in that a cabal is ‘a secret political clique or faction.’ Well, there are no longer ‘secret political cliques or factions.’ They are in the open. As I have been discussing for decades, the Marxist and Gramsci-ites speak, act and attack with impunity. These entities are factions that are fracturing our Republic.

What about intrigues? Once again the verb and noun form of intrigue share the same definition where one is active and other is descriptive. As a verb, ‘to make secret plans to do something illicit or detrimental to someone,’ and as a noun, ‘the secret planning of something illicit or detrimental.’ In our present time, intrigue is the implementation of CRT, SEL, Cancel Culture, Demeaning foundational history, Devaluing education and Sabotaging Christianity, Economic wealth transference, Capitulation to Gramsci-ites and Marxists, domestically and internationally.

All of this simply summarized by the Anti-federalist ‘Centinel’ with, ‘not considering that the love of domination is generally in proportion to talents, abilities, and superior acquirements; and that the men of the greatest purity of intention may be made instruments of despotism in the hands of the artful and designing.’ The fully exposed 20th and 21st century cabals and intrigues do dominate at this moment.

Great Awakenings

I watch CPAC this week and their 2022 tag line is ‘Awake Not Woke.’ In this weeks program I mention one of the differences between our Founding era and now is the Great Awakening that God produced amongst the people. My simple comment for this blog is that we must pray that the pulpits awaken to Biblical Reformation truth as well as the Citizenry become awakened by the Spirit of God to repentance and action.

No man can cause this work to happen. It will be the mercy of Jesus as He did during the founding of our nation. I will be talking more about the Great Awakening over the course of the year.

Consider this as a comparison from an article by a friend of my, Pastor Gary Randall, between the state of Christian Churches before the Great Awakening and now,

Pastor Jim Garlow, a well-known pastor and leader in the conservative movement, said recently to a group of pastors, “There are approximately 364,000 churches in America: 72% or 264,000 of them are liberal, meaning that they really don’t care about the Bible.”

He continued, “According to exhaustive surveys, somewhere between 6000 and 15,000, actually have a bona fide biblical world view, that is, they see life through the lens of Scripture.”

Rev’s Sandford and Ker

No, Rev’s Sanford and Ker is not the title of a new sitcom. In fact, these two ministers of the American War for Independence were ‘expressive in countenance,’ ‘impassioned,’ ‘fearless,’ and pious in a Biblical way.

They are Chapters 38 – David Sandford and 39 – Nathan Ker respectively of J. T. Headley’s ‘Chaplains and Clergy of the Revolution.’

Rev’s Sandford and Ker were men that understood and lived the full extent of Biblical Gospel truth. They were patriots and remarkable leaders. Both were highly respected by George Washington but more so by the troops in the fray of battle. Both gave of their personal money to ensure the efforts of Liberty would progress.

They were leaders not only in the pulpits but among those that established Liberty in the land.

The Letter by Sam Adams two sections down aptly describes our present time. Can you learn from Sam?

What if?

What if the pastor of the major denominations factually understood U. S. History and Biblical Reformation History? If they did, would we have congregations led by Rev’s Sanford and Ker? What was it in the theological education of the men during that era which produced the Sanford’s and Ker’s?

Yale and Princeton were sound Biblical schools of the time. Not now. So is true the greatest majority of seminaries, bible colleges and general Christian colleges. They do not have solid factual history or Biblical Reformation truth so as to produce those exemplified in The Chaplains and Clergy of the Revolution.

Before we get to the key quote I would like you to fully consider, I thought that the opening of this article is most applicable, especially to President Trump when he took office:

Truck’n Liberty

We see the freedom trail Truck’n Liberty all across Canada and the rumblings of the same here in the US. U. S. Citizens think is great and they want to support Liberty minded Canadian Trucker believing that they have the same constitutional rights as we do. Not True. As established all the way back to the 1600’s, those in the American Colonies stood their ground on rights being God given. Not so anywhere else in the world.

Why do you think that the O’biden administration is telling Canadian leaders to use the full force of ‘federal powers against the truckers’? Why are you seeing some Canadian Provinces removing mandates and others digging in their boots? Do you believe that Canadians have the same ‘rights’ as you, a U. S. Citizen? Regarding ‘rights’ the answer is Not really but.

I explain this in detail on this weeks program. For those that are impatient, it all centers on Constitutionalism identifying where ‘rights’ come from.

Truck’n Liberty Comes to U. S.

I have discussed ‘economy obfuscating and minimizing liberty’ on a number of different programs and lectures. Now we have U. S. truckers beginning their trek across the country. But what is this? Are most really worried about the Super Bowl? Do you really believe that the Department of Homeland Security is worried about disruptions of a corporatist gladiator show? By the way, in the article, DHS indicates that the U. S. Truck’n Liberty is ‘all talk’ at this time but could escalate at any time. Hmmm, I’m think’n the movies Minority Report and with the bioweapon of Wohan Gattaca. Gee, science fiction?

Let’s be clear, although we have God given rights in the U. S., corporatists, unions and systematic government are only interested in economy. Go search the web and you find all those in the U. S. against Truck’n Liberty truckers: Major auto companies, teamsters Union, Federal Trade Commission, US Chamber of Commerce, just to name the top few.

Well, our Founders were all about Liberty above economy and at time starved for the cause to keep free.

Where are the Pastors?

Where are the Pastors especially the modern pastors who could fill the shoes of George Duffield? Rev. Duffield is the Pastor who I feature and read about virtually to my Grandchildren from ‘The Chaplains and Clergy of the Revolution.’

This week I just about came to tears at the end of Chapter 37 about George Duffield. I know, as I shake my head, I know there are a number of pastors I have no clue about who are standing for the complete Foundational Biblical living as Rev. Duffield exemplifies. Yet, not to the level that he represents. If they were a shadow of Duffield there would not be any of the present day evils that are destroying our Liberties.

Let me give you this statement from Duffield, even as he knew that the British had put a £50 bounty on his head:

‘In a discourse delivered before several companies of Pennsylvania militia and members of Congress, four months before the Declaration of Independence, he took bold and decided ground in favor of that step, and I plead his cause with sublime eloquence, … He declared that Heaven designed this western world as the asylum for liberty, and that to raise its banner here their forefathers had sundered the dearest ties of home, friends and native land, and braved the tempests of the ocean and the terrors of the wilderness. Not through the fostering care of Britain, he said, had they grown and flourished, but her “tyranny and oppression, both civil and ecclesiastical” had driven noble souls hither “to enjoy in peace the fair possessions of freedom.” “Tis this” he exclaimed, “has reared our cities, and turned the wilderness, so far and wide, into a fruitful field. And can it be supposed that the Lord has so far forgotten to be gracious, and shut up His tender mercies in His wrath, and so favored the arms of oppression, as to deliver up their asylum to slavery and bondage? Can it be supposed that that God who made man free, and engraved in indefaceable characters the love of liberty in his mind, should forbid freedom already exiled from Asia and Africa, and under sentence of banishment from Europe—that He should forbid her to erect her banners here, and constrain her to abandon the earth? As soon shall He subvert creation, and forbid the sun to shine. He preserved to the Jews their cities of refuge, and whilst sun and moon endure America shall remain a city of refuge for the whole earth, until she herself shall play the tyrant, forget her destiny, disgrace her freedom, and provoke her God. When that day shall—if ever come—then, and not till then, shall she also fall, slain with them that go down to the pit!’

Where are the Pastors, those modern Pastors?

Let me cut to the chase by simply quoting the end of the biographical sketch on George Duffield and quotes from the Preface and Chapter I by J. T. Headley. My emphasis added:

Duffield quote – ‘Faith is never allowed a place in the philosophy of history, when events are being traced to their causes or probable results, though from creation till now it (being Faith) has proved stronger than all physical force. But that it had something to do with the success of our Revolution, none but a disbeliever in the Christian religion can doubt.’

Pastors As They Were 

Pastors As They Were is a followup to last weeks conversation with Dr. Mike Spaulding. I was compelled to get back to finishing the virtual reading of one of my favorite historical books, ‘The Chaplains and Clergy of the Revolution.’ I have dedicated this weeks program to the folks in Lima, Ohio. Dr. Mike and many of the pastors he is associated with fully understand the foundational actions of the pastors represented in the book.

This week I pick up the book for my grandchildren with Chapters 35 (Benjamin Pomeroy) and 36 (John Rogers).

As you will hear next week, what we have now, for the most part are pastors who are no different then those Tory Anglicans of the Revolutionary times. It is clear and identifiable that we have very few Pastors As They Were who lead America into the spiritual and national liberty. The Biblical orthodoxy and clear reformation understanding of those early pastors is for the most part forgotten. I have said for decades that this is a result of at least two components, education and denominationalism eschatological muck up. And I do mean the context of ‘muck something up.’

Education

Pastors As They Were are not necessarily what they are now a days. As with general education, the seminaries, private christian higher education and Bible colleges are corrupted. I did a study once, about ten years ago, and from looking at curriculum as well as some old Barna.com studies regarding orthodoxy in those institutions, I came to the conclusion that maybe 2% of existing christian educational institutions are foundational. Therefore we have all the wokeness and muck that is here and now at the pulpits because the Anti-federalists got it Right: the pulpits could become corrupt.

Denominationalism Eschatological Muck Up

I’m not getting into the nuts and bolts of this. If you listen to the program regularly you have heard me over the last five years talk about this. I’ve given plenty of references to follow up on. Lastly on this, go back and listen to Dr. Mike from last weeks program. Enough said.

The Church Implementing the New World Order

What does it mean that the Church is Implementing the New World Order? Hey Tom, where do you get that gibberish from? I could begin with a book I read that was published in 1975 by C. Gregg Singer but I want you to dig into the refreshed perspective of what has happened over the last 100 years in the article by Dr. Mike Spaulding.

‘The Church Has Become a Vehicle to Implement the New World Order’ is from the larger work on church and state that Dr. Spaulding has contributed to. For most Christians, the ostrich has its head in the sand by design. I’ve know Dr. Mike Spaulding for a number of years and his patriotism, knowledge and Faithfulness to Jesus reminds me of the Clergy of the American Revolution.

This interview with Mike is not only personal fun but gets into the background of the article and dissecting it so that additional background comes to light. We also get to a solution which Mike has written in a eBook that can be downloaded from his website (see the references below.)

Simply put, to understand if ones own church, not just the major denominations and the new ‘woke congregations’ are solid in the totality of God’s intent; Dr. Mike suggests that you ask this question: ‘Are they living the Gospel?’ I expand that with, is the sovereignty of Father, Son and Holy Spirit being actively implemented in every aspect of the lives in attendance or are the results of the pulpit preaching good for Sunday but never put into practice the remaining six days of the week?

As I often note, One of Sam’s monikers is ‘The Last Puritan.’ This is critical as to the application of the Gospel. In the first quote Sam refers to the corruptions of religion causing problems for cultural and political society. Second is a quote from a Proclamation Sam wrote as Lt. Governor for a day of Pray and Fasting

Destroying Democracy

The great question for you is who is Destroying Democracy and Should We? We are continuously hearing the comments by Obiden and all the Daemoncrats (pronounced dēmən-crats), mainstream propagandists and progressives (I’ll call them what they are – communists) decrying how those who believe in Foundational Constitutionalism, morality, voter integrity, and education over indoctrination are Destroying Democracy.

As you really think about this, I have a simple and profound answer – YES!

On this weeks program I am taking you into a somewhat modern explanation as to why I am firmly settled on my answer. To give you a couple considerations in this regard I ask you to apply these statements to any and all, even the so called conservatives in political leadership and the known pundits, who use ‘Democracy’ in any form relating to governance and government.

“Communism needs democracy like the human body needs oxygen.” Leon Trotsky

“Democracy is the road to socialism.” Karl Marx

“The political form of a society wherein the proletariat is victorious in overthrowing the bourgeoisie will be a democratic republic.” Vladimir Lenin

“In a democracy the people choose a leader in whom they trust. Then the chosen leader says, ‘Now shut up and obey me.’ People and party are then no longer free to interfere in his business.” Max Weber

“there is no hegemony without democracy” (Gramsci Foundation Institute), Giuseppe Vacca

Think abut Dr. Fauci and the health bureaucrats at state and federal levels with this one:

“Science and democracy are the right and left hands of what I’ll refer to as the move from the realm of necessity to the realm of freedom.” Karl Marx

I can go on across the history of socialism related to democracy as far back as the Greeks but we don’t have the time for that. It is important to understand that in our current flow of history, the modernists have assimilated the philosophical perspectives of democracy into the active ideology of these promotors of socialism and Marxism.

I do want you to listen to the program on Destroying Democracy – Should We? Yet I desire that you think even more deeply as to what that means from the perspective of the developers of the Constitution of 1787. In that thought process, I am compelled to leave you with several last considerations from the creator of the form of communism instantiated in these United States.

Consider Gramsci:

“Socialism is precisely the religion that must overwhelm Christianity. … In the new order, Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media by transforming the consciousness of society.”

It is not the instrument of government of the dominant groups in order to gain the consent and exercise hegemony over the subaltern classes. It is the expression of subaltern classes who want to educate themselves in the art of government and who have an interest in knowing all truths, even the unpleasant ones, and in avoiding the impossible deceptions of the upper class, and even more their own.’

January 6th Not the Primary Insurrection

I wanted to comment on January 6th from a perspective that I have heard but a very, very few others say anything about. There is much to do in calling January 6th an ‘insurrection.’ Yet words have meanings and the word usage does not match what history tells us about the real attacks on the federal capital. Nor does the narrative of the day properly use the word ‘insurrection’ where it should be respecting the events of the last few years or the incitements of radical professors leading ‘insurrections’ on campuses and local communities.

The truth of all that is being yapped about concerning ‘insurrection’ is rooted in that first action when Lucifer made his play to take the throne room. (Isaiah 14:12 and 14) With that and the Fall of Adam and Eve, well, mankind are set to follow the example of Lucifer to see power and take it, hold it and use all methods to do both. The purpose of good Constitutional governance is to keep our natural human sinful natures in check. Sadly, the Christian Church/denominations in these United States allowed the 140 year insurrection here to come to the point we are with the political and bureaucratic imbedded insurrectionists actively accomplishing their intent. Oh, and please consider what I mentioned a couple of weeks ago about the ideological and mental make up of these folks as noted in Isaiah 66:4.

Who Are the Insurrectionists?

By definition, we can clearly identify these insurrectionists. Some we can call by name but most are easier lumped into groups or organizations. Here are just a few that should grab you attention from the past and present:

BLM, Weathermen Underground, Antifa, The Bonus Army, Facebook, All female far-left American terrorist group M19, Twitter, left owned media, Progressive Congressional Caucus, former Harvard University German language professor, Puerto Rican nationalists indiscriminately opened fire on the House floor from the visitors’ gallery, Resistance Conspiracy, and others acting in the Gramsci means of warfare.

I discuss this more during the program while asking you to fully consider that those who do not understand the sovereignty of God and do not function within His rule for mankind are the true insurrectionists no matter how they define themselves.

What About History Proving January 6th Is Not A True Insurrection?

I take you through the historical list of various activities that have happened at the federal capitol as well comment on that which happened on campuses of higher-education. As I read this definition of ‘insurrection’ on the program, I want you to have the 1828 definition here:

‘1. A rising against civil or political authority; the open and active opposition of a number of persons to the execution of a law in a city or state. It is equivalent to sedition, except that sedition expresses a less extensive rising of citizens. It differs from rebellion, for the latter expresses a revolt, or an attempt to overthrow the government, to establish a different one or to place the country under another jurisdiction. It differs from mutiny, as it respects the civil or political government; whereas a mutiny is an open opposition to law in the army or navy. insurrection is however used with such latitude as to comprehend either sedition or rebellion.

It is found that this city of old time hath made insurrection against kings, and that rebellion and sedition have been made therein. Ezra 4:19.’ –
