  • Why Does Gurumahan Call for Penance When the World Is Suffering? உலகம் துன்பப்படும்போது தவவேள்வி செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று குருமகான் ஏன் கூறுகிறார்?

Can Our Consciousness Change What Happens in the World?
Gurumahaan in the 27th Velvi discourse (2016) reflects on Cyclone Vardah in Chennai, the influence of collective thoughts, the need for inner transformation, and the role of penance and prayer in protecting humanity and the Earth.

We have witnessed many natural disasters with our own eyes. But there are dimensions beyond what the eyes can see.

When we sing the Gnanathalisai with devotees, there is a powerful line: “Sorrow will be removed.” For the past few days, those who have seen me may have noticed a deep, indescribable sadness within me.

    Why does this happen?

There are times when a Guru becomes deeply sensitive to what is unfolding around the world. What appears to us as an ordinary event may carry a deeper significance.

We have spoken many times about the power of human thoughts. Thoughts do not remain only within us. When thoughts become collective, they can influence the way humanity lives and responds to the world around us.

We have seen destruction through fire in SriLanka. We have also seen the devastating power of water. When unnecessary thoughts, conflicts and negativity continue to grow, humanity itself creates an atmosphere of imbalance.

Recently, news has emerged about a situation we spoke about three weeks ago. When you hear such news, fear naturally arises in the mind.

But fear is not the answer.

    Transformation is the answer.

For the past month, we have been speaking about the possibility of such situations. We have also said that we cannot change everything through our individual efforts alone. We need the grace of the Almighty.

That is why this period is so important.

Our first objective is to remove the dangers that threaten humanity and nature. This is where the power of the universe becomes meaningful.

When we come together in true consciousness, prayer and penance, we are not merely sitting silently for ourselves. We are creating a field of awareness, compassion and peace.

Therefore, this is the time to do penance.

If we understand that we are part of this world, we cannot remain unconcerned when others suffer.
Let us come together with one intention: may suffering be removed, may destructive forces be calmed, may nature be protected, and may all beings live in peace.

When human consciousness changes, humanity changes.

When humanity changes, the way we live with nature changes.

This is the transformation we must begin within ourselves.

Let us do this penance with faith, unity and the grace of the Guru.

    May the Earth be protected.

    May sorrow be removed.

    May peace prevail everywhere.

  • Has Technology Connected Us to the World but Disconnected Us From the Universe? தொழில்நுட்பம் நம்மை உலகத்துடன் இணைத்து, பிரபஞ்சத்துடனான தொடர்பைத் துண்டித்துவிட்டதா?

The Call You Keep Missing: Your Connection with the Universe, Gurumahan in the 26th Velvi Discourse!

In the past, when we called out, the universe listened. We communicated with the subtle divine forces and with the divine beings.

Today, we communicate through computers and cell phones. We no longer communicate directly with the universal power.

The moment we finish this, whom do we talk to? We immediately reach for our cell phones.

People say, “Connect with the universe.” But even then, we think of connecting with the universe through a cell phone. We need a device even for that.

That is why I say: hand over the instrument called the mind to me. Once you surrender it, you can receive everything simply by listening to a single word—even a small word spoken by the Guru. You can certainly receive it.

That is why, in the coming times, our true seekers and realized souls—our saints—will need very little. A little is enough. Even a small transformation is enough.

Right now, something is making a constant “kasakasa” sound. If we keep the antenna clean, we can enjoy good music. We get clarity from it, and we can listen to beautiful music.

That is why this universal space is created. The moment you enter it, everything becomes still and clear.

“Prevention before something happens is wisdom.”

Blood—the blood flowing through the human body—determines the functioning of the mind. From it arise different states: the intellect, consciousness, and ego.

Now, what can we do with this blood?

You may have seen the story of Mahishasura Mardini. When Mahishasura is struck down, every drop of blood that falls from him creates another Mahishasura.

Today, we create a human being from sperm. But what exactly is sperm? It is a single drop. It is traditionally said that eighty drops of blood form one drop of sperm. When these eighty drops come together, they become semen.

And what does that semen contain? It carries the essence of the blood.

Therefore, in the future, we may be able to create a human being from a single drop of blood.

There may come a time when we no longer need sperm to create a human being. We may be able to create a human being directly from blood.

    When will this happen?

Not tomorrow. Not the day after tomorrow. It may happen many years from now, when humanity becomes smaller in number compared with other living beings. At that point, science will develop to make this possible.

    Will it happen?

    Yes, it certainly will.

When exactly? Not tomorrow. It may happen far into the future, long after we are gone.

And will this world be destroyed?

No. The world will not be destroyed. It will never be destroyed.

No matter how many scientists emerge, they will never be able to destroy this world.

  • What Makes a Human Being Truly Divine? ஒரு மனிதனை உண்மையில் தெய்வீகமானவராக மாற்றுவது எது?

The God You Seek Is Already Within
Gurumahan reveals how love, compassion, awareness, and self inquiry awaken the divine qualities hidden within every human being in the 26th Velvi discourse.

If you want to live like God, you must first live as a human being with divine qualities.

From this moment, if you truly decide to change, that intention itself can transform you. What matters is remembrance. Remembrance of the Divine can elevate you and guide you in every situation.

We often call others “God” with love and respect. We bow to parents, teachers, and those who have guided us. We see something divine in them.

    But who are we really?

God is within everyone. Wherever there is love, there is God. When the heart is filled with love, that person expresses the divine nature.

    Then what is love?

A mother may say, “I love my child more than anyone else.” But if love exists only for one person and not for others, is that complete love?

Love should flow freely, like running water. It should not remain stagnant or be limited to a particular person.

True love does not depend on receiving love in return. We should learn to love even those who do not show love towards us. This is the wisdom of one who has realized Brahman.

When you realize this truth, you can live divinely on this earth. The divine qualities are already within you.

What is another quality of God? Compassion.

If you see a dog being beaten, does compassion arise within you? Do you feel that you should help? That feeling itself is divine.

The power to feel compassion, the courage to act, and the willingness to help are all expressions of the divine nature within us.

Everything is within the mind. Anger, calmness, joy, sadness, and other emotions arise within us. We should not reject any feeling. We should understand it.

When anger arises, ask yourself: Why am I angry? What caused it? What benefit does this anger bring to me or to others?

    Think. Reflect.

When you truly observe your anger, it begins to settle on its own. Awareness transforms emotion.

Therefore, look within. Understand yourself. Develop love, compassion, patience, and wisdom.

These divine qualities are not somewhere outside you. They are already within you.

You have the potential to live with all the wonderful qualities of the Divine.

  • What Still Exists When Everything You Know Disappears in Deep Sleep? | ஆழ்ந்த உறக்கத்தில் நீங்கள் அறிந்த அனைத்தும் மறைந்த பிறகும் இருப்பது எது?

Atma Vicharam: Who Am I Beyond the Body, Mind, Intellect? — Gurumahan’s 26th Velvi Discourse.

If you want to know Brahman, the supreme reality that pervades the entire Universe, you do not have to go anywhere. It is within you. It is you.

Do not search for it outside. Begin with the understanding that God exists, and that God is one.

There are different stages on this path. First come the external practices. Then come the inner practices of the mind. These lead you from ordinary awareness to the path of light.

Among all mantras, Gayatri is considered the seed mantra. It points us beyond the three states of waking, dreaming, and deep sleep; beyond earth, heaven, and the higher realms; beyond creation, preservation, and dissolution; beyond past, present, and future; and beyond the three gunas, Tamoguna, Rajoguna, and Sattvaguna.

There is something beyond all these threefold divisions. If you know that one reality, you can understand everything.

This is the wisdom of the Upanishads: knowing one thing is equal to knowing everything. Our ancestors expressed this through a simple example. To know whether a whole pot of rice is cooked, you need to test only one grain.

In the same way, you do not need to understand the entire universe first. Take yourself as that one grain. Know yourself. Examine yourself deeply.

When you awaken yourself, you awaken your understanding of the universe, because the universe is hidden within you.

That reality within you is mystical. The power that arises from realizing it is spiritual power. When you realize that power, you can remain in a state of happiness wherever you are and whatever happens around you.

Develop the determination to overcome whatever comes your way. No matter how many difficulties or obstacles arise, the wisdom to overcome them is within you. That is where creation itself arises.

Look deeply into your own experience. In waking, I am aware. In dreaming, I experience another world. In deep sleep, all these experiences disappear. Yet something continues to exist.

The one who sees, the one who hears, the one who experiences, and the sense of “I am” all merge into that deeper consciousness. This is the truth that the ancient teachings asked us to realize.

Indra and Virochana once approached Prajapati to understand the Self. When they were told to look at what appeared before them, Virochana concluded that the physical body was the Self.

This is the way of the asuric nature. It identifies the body as the Self. It gives importance to the body, decorating it with clothes and ornaments and continuing to identify with it even when the life within the body has departed.

But the divine understanding is different.

What is unchanging, imperishable, and eternal is the Self. The body grows, changes, decays, and finally perishes. Therefore, the body cannot be the true Self.

Then examine the mind. The mind constantly changes. It experiences pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. What keeps changing cannot be the eternal Self.

    Go deeper still.

Is knowledge the Self? We may say, “I know this. I know that. I have mastered many skills.” But knowledge also changes. In deep sleep, our ordinary knowledge disappears. Yet we continue to exist.

That which comes and goes cannot be the eternal Self.

The Self does not come or go. It simply exists.

Nothing in this universe can arise without a source. Therefore, know the source from which everything arises. Where is that source?

    It is within you.

    You are that reality.

The Vedas point to this truth. What you see in the mirror is only your image. The body you see, the mind that understands the world, and the experiences you go through are not the whole of who you are.

Beyond the body, mind, and ordinary experience is the fourth state, the state of pure consciousness. This is the state of true greatness.

    Therefore, believe in yourself.

    Know that you are that.

Know that you are the Self.

    Know that you are divine.

When you truly realize this, you cannot be deceived by falsehood. You will no longer be easily disturbed or influenced by what happens around you.

    Who are you?

    You are that divine consciousness.

  • What Would It Take to Unite the Entire World as One? | உலகம் முழுவதையும் ஒன்றாக இணைக்க என்ன தேவை?

In the 26th Velvi discourse, Gurumahan talks of 'One God, one race, one world'.

If the whole world is one, what do we need? We need one global organization, a world government that works for everyone.

Then we need one common world language.

What comes next? One currency. One common identity. One world.

Can we accept this vision? Who are we? We are all beings created by God. We are divine.

If we hold a thought with clarity and believe in it, we can make it happen. That is why we must think of a united and peaceful world.

    One humanity.
    One world.
    One world administration.
    One common language.
    One common identity.

    Let us create this together.

Let everyone live for one another. Let everyone live well. Let everyone prosper. Let us grow together and live in peace.

Let us protect the welfare of the world. Let us protect world peace. Let us bring forth the Age of Truth.

By the grace of God, let this vision become reality.

    Long live Mother Earth.
    Long live the Universe.
    Long live happiness.

  • What Does It Mean to Surrender to the Guru? குருவிடம் சரணடைவது என்றால் என்ன?

In the 26th Velvi Discourse, Gurumahaan Reveals What Happens When the Eyes Become Still!

If you have learned to think from consciousness (MeiUnarvu), live in consciousness, realize in consciousness and know yourself through consciousness, then there is no more birth.

That is why I speak about keeping the eyes steady. When you practise keeping your eyes open and still for one, two or three minutes every day, the mind also becomes still. When there is no movement in the mind and you remain fully awake and aware, there is no need for another birth.

You can go beyond the cycle of birth and death and attain the highest state. This birth can become your last birth.

For those who truly want this birth to be their last, this is the place.

    What is this place?

    It is Moksha Sthalam.

My work is to transform you into human gods, to help you realize the God within you. You must allow me to do my work.

I have done my duty. What do you have to do?

You have to come and surrender.

Only when you offer your head can the shaving be done. I know how to shave the head. I will shave your head here too.

    What does this mean?

My work is to remove the karmic burden you have accumulated through many births.

    That is my work.

    Who am I?

I am the one who helps you destroy your accumulated karma. I have destroyed my own karma. Now I am ready to help you destroy yours.

You may call upon any deity. Let the divine power remove your sins and merits. My duty is to make you pure.

You have accumulated so much within you through many births. What is the purpose of this birth?

This birth has come because of the longing created through many births. So understand why you have come here.

    Ask yourself:

    Who am I?

    How did I come here?

    Why did I come here?

The secrets of your life are within you. Sit here every day and contemplate them.

It is not only the actions of this birth. You have carried impressions and karma from many births.

How many births will you need to clear everything you have accumulated?

If you truly want this to be your last birth, you must think deeply about it.

Simply placing my hand on your head again and again is not enough. You must surrender. You must remain steadfast. You must have faith in the Guru.

The one who surrenders to God and has complete faith in the Guru can rise to great heights in this very birth.

  • If the Divine Is Already Within Us, Why Do We Need a Guru to Realize It? | இறைநிலை நமக்குள்ளேயே இருக்கும்போது, அதை உணர குரு ஏன் தேவை?

In the 26th Velvi Discourse, Gurumahan Reveals the True State Hidden Within You!

Only when wisdom and politics come together can there be peace in the world. True governance must be guided by Yoga. Therefore, world peace will come soon, through those who have attained true consciousness, MeiUnarvu.

No one from outside can bring about this transformation. It must come through you. My beloved ones, what truly uplifts and fulfils you is returning to your own nature, your own true state of being.

Your physical state is connected to the Mooladhara. Your mental state is connected to the heart centre. Your intellectual state functions through the eyebrow centre. But your true state, the state of the soul, is at the highest centre within you, the Crown chakra.

O true seekers of enlightenment, through your daily practice, turn your awareness towards that supreme lotus and experience the four states of consciousness: waking, dreaming, deep sleep, and the state beyond sleep.

Everything you seek is not outside you. It is within you.

The head is the most important centre of the body. The eyebrow centre is connected with the waking state. Beyond it is the dream state, and above that is the state of deep sleep. This is why, when we sleep, we place our head down and rest. The head is closely connected with these states of consciousness.

We experience three familiar states: waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. Beyond these three is the fourth state, Turiya. This is the state of the Atma, the supreme state at the highest centre within you.

    This is your true nature.

The divine path arises from within this state. The role of the Guru is to guide you back to that divine path and help you reconnect with your own highest nature.

  • What Did Ancient India Understand About Nature That We Have Forgotten Today? இயற்கையைப் பற்றி பண்டைய பாரதம் அறிந்திருந்தும், இன்று நாம் மறந்துவிட்டது என்ன?

In the 26th Velvi Discourse, Gurumahan Reveals the Forgotten Science That Could Help India Guide the World.

Whether or not we are capable of building advanced factories and modern technologies today, India had already discovered iron long before the modern world. Our Siddhas explored metals and developed remarkable processes using various natural materials. They even discovered ways to work with mercury, something that cannot simply be created from another substance.

Our Siddhas discovered numerous metals, substances, and transformative processes that were far ahead of their time. Yet what is the true purpose of such knowledge if it does not serve humanity and protect nature?

The wisdom of our ancient civilization was rooted in the principle of recycling and renewal. Nothing in nature was considered useless or simply discarded. Everything had a purpose. Nothing was treated as something to be permanently wasted or destroyed.

This is the foundation upon which the scientific wisdom of India developed. It was not science that sought to conquer nature, but a way of life that understood how human beings could live in harmony with nature without destroying it.

That is why India became one of the earliest cradles of civilization. At a time when much of the world had not yet developed organized civilizations, great knowledge, culture, and wisdom flourished on this holy land.

From this holy land, human culture continued to spread across the world. India gave humanity art, culture, tradition, spiritual wisdom, and a way of living that embraces diversity and respects all forms of life.

India has always had the spirit to embrace everyone, connect nations, and foster harmony, friendship, and peaceful relationships among people.

Therefore, India has a greater responsibility before it. From this land, India will once again rise to guide humanity towards a future where science, spirituality, culture, and harmony with nature move together.

  • Is Nature Punishing Us or Simply Returning What We Gave Her? | இயற்கை நம்மைத் தண்டிக்கிறதா, அல்லது நாம் கொடுத்ததையே திருப்பித் தருகிறதா?

In the 26th Velvi Discourse, Gurumahan Warns: Nature Never Forgets What We Give.

We often speak about China’s rise in the world’s economic rankings and see industrial growth as a sign of national progress. Industries from across the world have moved there, bringing rapid development and prosperity. But we must also ask ourselves: what happened to the waste produced by all those industries?

Today, when severe rain falls, authorities issue red alerts and tell people, “Please do not go outside. Do not get drenched in the rain.” But what is rain? Why should we be afraid of it?

Rainwater is pure. Where does it come from? The heat of the sun draws water from the oceans, it rises and forms clouds, and from those clouds, pure water returns to the earth as rain.

But what else are we sending back into the atmosphere? What have we released into the earth, the water and the air through our careless actions? All the unnecessary waste and pollution that we create eventually finds its way back to us.

Nature is simply returning what we have given her.

This is not the fault of nature. It is the consequence of the wrong kind of science and development that we have created. We cannot keep giving poison to nature and expect her to return nectar.

What we give to the earth, the earth will one day give back to us.

  • Where Is the Divine Path Within the Human Body? | மனித உடலுக்குள் இறைவழி எங்கே இருக்கிறது?

In the 26th Velvi discourse, Gurumahan reveals the mysterious divine path within us and explains how the same Supreme Power that created the universe resides within every human being.

Where is the divine path, and what is it like?

In the beginning, the Supreme Power, the source of everything, existed in a state of self forgetfulness for ages. When that forgetfulness dissolved, it awakened to SELF. From the movement of that awakening arose a primordial sound, and from that sound emerged a subtle light.

That light gradually permeated everything and ultimately manifested as the human form.

After countless incarnations, that primordial substance, the original essence, the very source from which everything arose, must still exist within this human being.

Just as a sparrow builds its nest and leaves a small opening through which it can enter and leave, the human body too has an opening through which the cosmic energy enters.

When we build a house, we provide a doorway. Likewise, this cosmic energy creates the body and enters it through the opening at the top of the head. This is the divine path.

There are ten gates through which one can enter or experience this body. But there is an eleventh gate, the opening at the crown, known as the Brahmarandhra. Through this subtle opening, the primordial cosmic energy enters.

That is why the crown of the head is regarded as a sacred and subtle gateway.

The primordial energy then manifests as the light of consciousness and the light of knowledge at the brow centre, between the two eyes. This is the centre of knowledge, the soul centre, the divine centre.

When this consciousness becomes established at the brow centre, it governs the entire body from there. Through it, we experience movement, touch, sight, hearing, taste, smell, thought and all the functions of the body.

As this consciousness descends further, it expresses itself through the different levels of existence within us. At the heart centre, it becomes associated with the life force and the movement of breath.

From there, it continues its descent as fire, water and earth, expressing itself through the five elements. The subtle becomes gross. The energy gradually manifests as the physical body and ultimately as the world we experience.

Therefore, the very same Supreme Power that manifests this entire universe is present within every human being.

That which appears infinitely far away is, in truth, incredibly close, because it is within us.
