  • The universe is the voice of Guru’s thought.

One must go deep within the true atom, pass through it, and realize the essence that lies within. That essence is what manifests as everything in the universe as Guru. That Guru is  the Originating primordial supreme power, that Guru is the awareness,  that Guru is the divine vibration and that Guru is the divine light. That Guru pervades the sky and the vast heavens as the essence of the cosmos. It radiates as the Milky Way, the solar system, the realm of stars, the planetary spheres, and the Earth itself. This operation of the Guru is continually unfolding in the pure infinite space.

The Guru exists as the smallest atomic particle in the outer space. In the movement of atoms, the Guru is the air; in the collision of atoms, He is the fire. Fire cools down and here Guru is the water, water becomes solid and here Guru is the earth; The Guru shines in all of these forms. All that exists is none but the Guru; apart from the Guru, there is nothing else.

That Guru shines as this universe, as the manifested nature. That very Guru radiates in the unmanifested state, as supreme wisdom, supreme power, supreme bliss, supreme truth, supreme peace, and the supreme divine love. Thus, this unmanifested power reveals itself as the manifested force.

The Guru is the seed. The Guru becomes the root, the base of the tree, the branch, the tender leaf, the flower, the unripe fruit, the ripe fruit, its beauty, its essence, and its taste. That very seed called Guru has fully transformed into the tree. Nothing else was taken to create it — everything has emerged from within that very seed. All that has manifested was already contained within it and has emerged from within. Therefore, this entire universe was created by the thought that is inside the Guru.

  • Gurumahan’s blessings for Kundalini Practitioners who recieved the Upadesam.

You are all people who received the Kundalini Initiation from UPF. You are still holding onto sorrow, pain, and worries. You still haven’t trusted that supreme power within you. You are still relying on external rituals for faith.
The one who believes in external worship reaches a 20 percent higher state. The one who believes in the worship of light attains a 60 percent higher state. The one who has faith in the formless divine vibration experiences 100 percent benefit. Your thoughts are what elevate you.

One must strive to reach higher levels without being stagnant in one place. The all-powerful supreme energy exists in form, formless, and beyond form states. According to each individual’s level of maturity, there are forms of worship such as idol worship, light worship, and consciousness (Divine Vibration) worship.

Gurumahan emphasies that ‘You are all the ones that stand elevated in this Divine Vibration worship. You are the best among millions of people and the most distinguished ones. You, who stand at those elevated levels, do not go down further. Have faith in the divine power within you. Without that faith, even external worship will become ineffective for you. Therefore, everywhere and in everything, the divine power within you is the true essence. One who believes in that God will never be abandoned. Therefore, God is within me. I am within God. For those who believe that I am with God, He always provides protection in everything and everywhere. Do not fear. Be bold and believe that He (God) is with you. You have no fear. You will reach a state of mindlessness.’

  • Thirumandhiram 589: How to keep the mind still for long?

    #589, 3rd thandhiram, 7 - dharanai

    Thirumandhiram 1st line: "மலையார் சிரத்திடை வானீர் அருவி"

Meru or Giri means mountain. Sivagiri means the mountain where Lord Shiva resides.

    Just as the Shakti that resides on the left side of Siva is what manifests as the Ganga at the top of His (Lord Shiva) head;

For our bodies, the head is the most important part which serves as the mountain, and at the crown (the peak of head), the energy descending from the universe enters through.

    Thirumandhiram 2nd line : "நிலையாரப் பாயும் நெடுநாடி யூடே"

Just like water flows down from the top of a waterfall, the pure universal energy—like the holy Ganga coming from the sky—flows through the top of our head and travels down through the central channel (nadu naadi) all the way to the base, the Muladhara.

The great waterfall (Universal Energy) that flows down from the crown to the muladhara becomes a mighty river and it splits into tributaries—72,000 naadis in our bodies. Eventually, they all flow into the sea, meeting and merging at the junction point (Muchandhi) of the three main naadis at the third eye chakra.

The muchandhi (junction) at the third eye is called Triveni Sangamam where Triveni means three rivers and Sangamam means the merging point. Similar to Bhavani river which is the Southern Prayag, the Northern Prayag is the confluence of three rivers: Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. Taking a holy dip there washes away all accumulated sins. It means that our karmic actions will no longer follow us, we will have no debts, and there will be no more rebirth.

This refers that when a person meditates at the third eye centre, it dissolves all the karmic actions performed by the soul and is freed from the cycle of birth.

    Thirumandhiram 3rd and 4th line

The endless universal energy keeps dancing all the way down as it flows till the muladhara. Thirumoolar recites that while the energy flows he witnessed the ‘Ananda Jyothi’ (Light of Bliss) deep inside, as mentioned in the Thirumandhiram.

  • Thirumandhiram 588 : How to keep the mind still?

3, 7- dharanai

    Thirumandhiram 3rd line

Eyes are there but does not see, ears are there, but does not hear, mouth is there, but does not speak. When does this happen? Everyone is in this state of samadhi during Sleep. But during sleep, we are unconscious. This Samadhi is conscious sleep, is a state of awareness.

Eyes are open, but do not see. For example, you will be thinking about something, eyes will be open, ears are open. Even if someone comes near us, we do not know.

In another case, we might be doing some calculation, during that time our concentration is fully on the pen, book. We will be completely merged in the task. Even if someone stands near us, we cannot identify. Only after sometime we will recognize their presence. Eyes are there, but since we were merged in the task , we would not have seen him even through the corner of our eyes. Ears are there, but we would not have heard even the sound of them walking towards us. When does this happen?

    Thirumandhiram 1st line say,

    "கோணா மனதை குறிகொண்டு கீழ்கட்டி",

What is the nature of this mind? Can it be still? Thirumoolar says "still mind".  Nature of the Mind is always to waver around. He says don't keep the wavering mind, place the still mind in the  mooladhara meaning the root point- base of the spine, this is the Life force center on the seat of Kundalini Shakthi.

In the second stage of Kundalini initiation offered at UPF, we focus our mind on mooladhara and observe the divine vibration.

2nd Line of Thirumandiram says, "வீணாத்தண் டூடே வெளியுறத் தானோக்கிக்", meaning raise the life force through the spine.

    Gurumahan quotes:

In the thirumandhiram, many years ago, Mahan Thirumular explains that one has to take the still mind with strong willed Life force from mooladhara  through the spinal chord, and reach the top eye the sahasrara.

4th line of Thirumandhiram explains that one can increase thier life time, when the 5 senses usage is reduced.

Gurumahan explains that  the consequence of using  5 senses everyday.

For example we have a battery charger. It provides energy for 5 lights. Let's say if all 5 lights are used, the battery charger supports for 100 hours. Here we can reduce the usage  less than 100 hrs or increase more than 100hrs .how?
In the place of 5 lights, if we use 10 lights, the lifetime charger reduces from 100 hours to 50 hours.

Instead of 5 lights, when usages drops to 3 lights, then the usages hours will naturally increase.

Similarly when we use our energy through 5 senses, we will have a lifetime of 100 years. If we use more energy, our lifetime will be reduced from 100years. But if we slowly limit our usage of five senses, our lifetime will increase.

Therefore thirumoolar in 4th line of this thirumandiram says that this practice of turning the "still mind" inwards and raising the kundalini shakthi  through the spine to the sahasrara will increase the lifetime of a person.

The entire thirumandhiram is the guide book of Kundalini Yogam.

Therefore  Pratyahara explains how to turn the mind that travels through 5 senses inward? What should the Still Mind focus on while traveling through the spine?

While observing one attains the state of consciousness where eyes exist, but one does not see, ears exist but one does not hear.
