This week on Tales From The Needle, we welcome Saschi McCormack, owner of Black Lines Matter Tattoo in Frankenthal, near Mannheim. Saschi, who opened the shop six years ago and works alongside five talented tattoo artists, has been tattooing since 2009. Born to a German father and Irish mother, he shares how moving to Ireland as a teenager shaped his journey, starting with an escape from mandatory military service. Before setting up his shop in Germany, Saschi honed his craft in Dublin, and in this episode, he compares life in Dublin and Berlin, reflects on his early tattooing work (which he humorously calls “shit”), and opens up about how his fear of flying keeps him grounded despite a love for travel.
