    ---

Hello, community of music lovers. Although songs are made up of melodies and lyrics, in my opinion the most attractive thing about a song is its melody. This explains why we can really like a song in another language, whose lyrics we do not understand but whose melody catches us.

However, there are songs whose melody and lyrics I consider to be on par in terms of importance. That is the case of the waltz that I bring today to share with you. Its lyrics are a true poem. Its first line surprises us with a beautiful image. Although it begins with a cliché: "Under the blue sky..." However, its continuation is super beautiful, since what happens in "Under the blue sky" is that " the sun folds a yawn"

Can our imagination visualize the sun yawning? Its light, as the day dies, becomes dim and "...whose dim light paints a glow"

The entire song continues in that vein. I recommend that you read her lyrics carefully before listening to her. It is worth clarifying that its title "Corian Twilight" refers to the afternoon hours in the city of Coro, capital of the Falcón state, in Venezuela.

(That is why it is "corian" from Coro, not to be confused with "koreano" from Korea)
It is in Coro where you will find the tourist attraction of the dunes, a tiny desert of very fine sand and dunes that change with the impulse of the breeze.

It is in Coro where the typical gastronomy of the place gives us delicious recipes such as "chivo en coco" (Goat in coconut). For my part, it is a dish that I have not tried, but once, while visiting a friend's house from Coro, in those years of abundance or normality where it was so common to say to the visitor "Don't leave yet so you can have lunch - or have dinner - with us", they invited me to lunch and the family dish was rice, bay beans - red beans, the little ones, not the large red beans - I don't remember what they served it with, maybe ground meat or steak or stewed meat - at that time we poor people could eat meat - but I do remember the delicious flavor of those beans cooked with grated coconut. A delight!

Both its lyrics and its music were created by Rafael Sánchez López (“Rafuche”) and its main performers were the unforgettable “Quinteto Contrapunto”
It is an almost obligatory song in the repertoire of Venezuelan choirs.

    Crepúsculo Coriano
    Bajo el cielo azul
    pliega un bostezo el sol
cuya tenue luz pincela un arrebol
las brisas salobres rizan al pasar
el vientre sonoro desnudo del mar
    A2.
    //La nerviosa expresión
    de su mirada tropical

    Corian Twilight
    Under the blue sky
    the sun folds a yawn
whose dim light brushes a blush
the brackish breezes ripple as they pass
the naked sonorous belly of the sea

From a bell tower you hear a song

that the bronzes ring with a sad air
and while the afternoon gets bored of light
the shadows gather together, weaving a hood

All the spell of the sunset

shows its grace, without equal color
and in the virginal face of a woman
twilight in life, turned into flower

    //The nervous expression

    of her tropical look
lit up in my being, when I spoke to her about love
while her singing voice of limpid crystal
orchestrated the waves in a snail//

  • Hive Music Festival Week 101 Round 2 "Maracaibo en la noche" (Maracaibo at Night) Cover By @sayury

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=sayury/kgxvunif

Hello, community of music lovers. This is a very special month for Hive Music Festival. Last week was No. 100, which is very significant. This number represents a long time of achievements, achievements, successes, learning.

    One hundred weeks And more!

Why do I say “one hundred weeks and more”? Because there are one hundred weeks counted from week 1 round 1, that is, from its first edition. But before that, when Hive Music Festival was born, it was born as a “simple idea” in the mind of someone who communicated it to others and each one began to enrich that idea in its details, it stopped being a simple idea and then it was already a project and the day it “took off” in its realization… it had already been brewing for some time.

Until the happy day of its birth arrived. Like any company that starts, with a risk margin...already overcome. The number 100 is proof of this. That's why we are happy and “in

  • Hive Music Festival Week 99 Round 3 "Pajarillo verde" (Little green bird) cover by @sayury

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=sayury/fagrqolh

    LETRAS

Pajarillo verde, cómo no quieres que llore,
Pajarillo verde, cómo no voy a llorar,

Pajarillo verde, cómo no voy a llorar,

Pajarillo verde, y ayer fuiste a cortar leña,

    ENGLISH VERSION

Hello, community of music lovers. We reach week 99 and round is 3. Next week will be

week No.100, a number that I think we should celebrate in some way. Let's see what we can think of. A “virtual party”.
Well, for various reasons I have been away, posting only from time to time, and I have been missing here for several weeks now, so today I feel like “returning home.”
I bring you a song from Venezuelan folklore, from the eastern part of the country, called “Pajarillo Verde” (Little Green Bird) and something curious happened while I was recording it: I placed the cell phone leaning on the window bars - as I always do - at the back of the house. This is because my neighbors across the street had music playing at full volume, then when I was recording the first time a truck passed by and then the man who buys scrap metal shouted “Chatarreroooo!”

So I was forced to record again… and this time the ideal “noisy” came: A little bird perched on the leaves of an anisote bush that we have there and started singing. Every time I said “little green bird” it seemed to take it for granted because it would start chirping again. So the recording has that natural sound effect. Very beautiful. The funny thing is that most of the time I record in that place and it had never happened to me except today when I was singing “little green bird”. Things that happen! – My son @luisfe would say: “Happen that things!”

The lyrics of the song “Pajarillo Verde” (Little Green Bird) were created by José del Pilar Rivera who is its author, and the music is by Luis Mariano Rivera who is its composer.
It was popularized in 1974 by the Venezuelan vocalist Cecilia Todd, a lady with a really beautiful sweet voice. Years later, Ilan Chester, vocalist, pianist, also Venezuelan, of Hebrew descent, would also make a beautiful version “in her own style.”
I forgot a beautiful version that Soledad Bravo did of this same song.

    LYRICS

Little green bird, how do you not want me to cry?
Little green bird, how can I not cry?
Oh, oh, oh, if I have only one life,
Little green bird, and they want to take it away from me

Little green bird, how do you not want me to cry?

Little green bird, how can I not cry?
Oh, oh, oh, if the crickets that they take away from me,
Little green bird, they hit me again.

Little green bird, and yesterday you went to cut firewood,

Little green bird, you passed by my
small plot of land to grow vegetables for my family,
Oh, oh, oh, and everyone knew it,
Little green bird, for your bad companion.

Little green bird, what can an Indian give you,

Little green bird, no matter how much you love him.
Oh, oh, oh, a string of crabs,
Little green bird, and that will be when it rains.
