In many families of Bangladeshi community both parents work. Then one of the things they have to worry about most is caring for the kids during work hours. It is expensive enough to keep children in the childcare facility. Many depend on the childcare subsidy provided by the government for this. Early Childhood Educator Mrs Asma Huda speaks to SBS Bangla about how this subsidy is working for them.

বাংলাদেশী কমুনিটির অনেক বাবা-মা দুজনেই কাজ করে থাকেন। তখন যে বিষয় টি নিয়ে তাদের বেশি ভাবতে হয় তাহলো কাজের সময়টাতে বাচ্চাদের দেখাশোনা করা। শিশুদের চাইল্ড কেয়ার ফ্যাসিলিটিতে রাখা যথেষ্ট ব্যয়বহুল। অনেকেই এজন্য সরকারের দেয়া চাইল্ড কেয়ার সাবসিডির ওপর নির্ভরশীল।এ সাবসিডি তাদের কিভাবে সাহায্য করছে তা নিয়ে এসবিএস বাংলার সাথে কথা বলেছেন আর্লি চাইল্ডহুড এডুকেটর মিসেস আসমা হুদা।

ফেডারাল সরকার অস্ট্রেলিয়ানদের ধর্মীয় বিশ্বাস প্রকাশের অধিকার রক্ষার লক্ষ্যে খসড়া Religious Discrimination বা ধর্মীয় বৈষম্য বিলটি প্রকাশ করেছে।

তবে বিভিন্ন এডভোকেসি গ্রুপ  এবং বিরোধী দল এর সমালোচনা করছে, তারা সতর্ক করে দিয়ে বলছে যে এটি হয়তো বৈষম্যকে আরও বাড়িয়ে তুলতে পারে।

Australia’s productivity has weakened in recent years, growing by an average of 1.1 per cent - below the long-run average of 1.5 per cent.
