Melbourne's most senior Catholic says he will go to jail rather than tell police if someone told him during confession that they had sexually abused a child. A bill introduced on 14 August in Victoria's parliament would require religious and spiritual leaders to report child abuse to authorities.

মেলবোর্নের জ্যেষ্ঠ ক্যাথোলিক বলেছেন, কেউ যদি কনফেশনের সময় বলেন, তিনি কোনো শিশুকে যৌন নির্যাতন করেছেন, তবে তিনি সেটা পুলিশকে জানাবেন না। এর চেয়ে বরং তিনি জেলে যেতে রাজি। গত ১৪ আগস্ট ভিক্টোরিয়ায় পার্লামেন্টে একটি বিল উত্থাপন করা হয়েছে যেখানে ধর্মীয় নেতাদের দ্বারা সংঘটিত শিশু নিপীড়নের ঘটনা প্রকাশ করার বাধ্যবাধকতা রয়েছে।

They are concerned about Australians who are unsure about how the system works.

নতুন আন্তর্জাতিক ডাটা শেয়ারিং এগ্রিমেন্ট অনুযায়ী অস্ট্রেলিয়ান ট্যাক্সেশন অফিস (এ-টি-ও) কোনো ব্যক্তির বিদেশী আয় খুঁজে বের করতে পারবে এবং তারা যদি তা প্রকাশ না করে তবে সেটাও চিহ্নিত করতে পারবে। এ-টি-ও করদাতাদের বলেছে যে, তাদের যদি বিদেশে আয় থাকে তবে তারা যেন এটা ট্যাক্স-টাইমের সময়ে রিপোর্ট করে।

সম্প্রতি ভিক্টোরিয়ান কারিকুলাম এন্ড অ্যাসেসমেন্ট অথরিটি (ভিসিএএ) ভিসিই ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ স্টাডিতে বাংলা ভাষা অন্তর্ভুক্ত করেছে। এর ফলে মাধ্যমিক পর্যায়ের শিক্ষার্থীরা ২০২১ সাল থেকে পুরো অস্ট্রেলিয়াতে বাংলা ভাষাকে তাদের পাঠ্য বিষয় হিসেবে গ্রহণ করতে পারবে।
