Victorian Bangladeshi Community Foundation (VBCF) is organising a 'Health Awareness Session' for Bangladeshi residents on Sunday, 28 July at The Grange School in Hoppers Crossing, west of Melbourne. This session will cover some common public health issues that community should be aware of.

Coordinator of this program and public health specialist Dr Muhammad Aziz Rahman speaks to SBS Bangla about this session. 

মেলবোর্নের বাংলাদেশি কমিউনিটিতে স্বাস্থ্য সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষে ভিক্টোরিয়ান বাংলাদেশি কমিউনিটি ফাউন্ডেশন একটি 'হেলথ এওয়ারনেস সেশনের' আয়োজন করতে যাচ্ছে। এটি অনুষ্ঠিত হবে রোববার, ২৮ জুলাই হপারস ক্রসিঙের দা গ্র্যাঞ্জ স্কুলে । এই সেশনে কিছু সাধারণ জনস্বাস্থ্য বিষয়ক ইস্যু সম্পর্কে কমিউনিটির সদস্যদের অবহিত করা হবে । 

এই কর্মসূচির কোঅরডিনেটর এবং পাবলিক হেলথ স্পেশালিষ্ট ডঃ মুহাম্মাদ আজিজ রহমান এসবিএস বাংলাকে জানাচ্ছেন এই সেশন সম্পর্কে।

Bengali filmmaker and actor Siddhartha Banerjee recently completed his new film 'Somporko (Relationships)' in Bangla language. Originally from India, Siddhartha was involved in professional acting and modelling in India and Bangladesh. He received 'Uttam Kumar Award' twice as best actor.

Recently he released his film 'Somporko' in online platform. Australian and Bangladeshi artist and crew worked in this film. 

Siddhartha speaks to SBS Bangla about his filmmaking experience in Australia. 

ভারতীয় বংশোদ্ভূত বাঙালী চলচ্চিত্র নির্মাতা এবং অভিনেতা সিদ্ধার্থ ব্যানার্জী সম্প্রতি অস্ট্রেলিয়ার পটভূমিতে নির্মাণ করেছেন চলচ্চিত্র ‘সম্পর্ক' ।বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতে বেশ কয়েক বছর চলচ্চিত্র অভিনয় এবং মডেলিঙে যুক্ত ছিলেন তিনি।  

অভিনয়ের স্বীকৃতি হিসেবে তিনি দুবার শ্রেষ্ঠ অভিনেতা হিসেবে উত্তম কুমার এওয়ার্ড পেয়েছেন। তার নির্মিত চলচ্চিত্র ‘সম্পর্ক' সম্প্রতি তিনি মুক্তি দিয়েছেন অনলাইন প্ল্যাটফর্মে । এতে বাংলাদেশ এবং অস্ট্রেলিয়ার শিল্পী এবং কলাকুশলীরা কাজ করেছেন । 

সিদ্ধার্থ ব্যানার্জী এসবিএস বাংলার শ্রোতাদের জানাচ্ছেন অস্ট্রেলিয়ায় তার চলচ্চিত্র নির্মাণের অভিজ্ঞতার কথা।

There are an estimated two-million temporary migrants in Australia at the moment, and as the economy slows and wages stagnate, their presence has increasingly become a political issue. But, a new report has found that those migrants are not harming the jobs or wages of local workers.

World leaders are being accused of failing to protect journalists by a top human rights lawyer. The criticism comes after Australian Federal Police came under fire over actions taken against journalists in this country.
