दीजू शिवदास दो बच्चों के पिता हैं और इस वक़्त पितृत्व अवकाश पर हैं।  वह कहते हैं कि शिशु कि ज़िम्मेदारी सिर्फ माँ का ही कर्तव्य नहीं है बल्कि पिता का सहयोग भी बहुत ज़रूरी है। अपने पहले बच्चे के लिए ज़्यादा समय न निकाल पाने के बाद अब दीजू 3 महीने के लिए अवकाश पर हैं और अपने बच्चों के साथ आनंद से समय बिता रहे हैं।
