Scared To Death

Dan's first story today is the retelling of the moments that led to one young woman becoming a firm believer in the paranormal. She sees something… experiences something… that she just can’t deny.  Then, we’ll explore the lore behind a curse associated with New Hampshire and Maine’s Saco River. Lynze brings three fan stories. The first is an intense reminder to steer clear of ouija boards. Then, a creepy but not too creepy telling of ghost that has seemed to linger in the same machine shop for thirty or so years. Then, to finish out the show, a really bothersome story about a possessed stuffy!

Hi Creeps and Peepers! Today we wanted to share a bonus episode with you from the RUN, FOOL! Podcast from our friends at Ballen Studios. We hope you love it!

Every week on RUN, FOOL!, you’ll hear a terrifying tale from the mind of Rodney Barnes. If you love monsters, demons, vampires, and the occult (which we know you do), you’re going to love how these stories make you question what’s real.

In this episode, two college roommates explore a cursed chapel rumored to house a stairway to hell, only to awaken their darkest fears.

New episodes of RUN, FOOL! come out every Tuesday, and you can follow and listen anywhere you get your podcasts.

Dan shares a tale around a young man thinking he’s being haunted by something in his phone. It's a sad tale, it's a creepy tale. Then, his second story covers some of the lore that surrounds California’s Lost Lake. What spirits and also creatures might be hiding in and around its water? Lynze shares three fan submissions this week. The first two come from one fan and potentially show what we can access if we are open. Then, in her final story, a very peculiar story that might be an alien story as suggested by the submitter... but maybe not.

Hang out with Dan and Lynze (and some other amazing creators) this November at CrimeWaveAtSea! A spoopy cruise! crimewaveatsea.com/scared

In this twenty-fifth installment of fictional horror written and narrated by Dan Cummins.... we return to Bodie, California! Twenty-seven years after confronting the Beast of Bodie, former sheriff Ezra Calhoun has a new monster to fight. The Dark Watcher. A strange and ferocious man-like entity appearing on the ridge of one of the hills above town, and butchering locals.

This episode was scored by Logan Keith. We recommend listening with headphones to experience the full effect of all the creepy background noises! If you like this episode, please let us know wherever you rate and review podcasts. Thanks so much!

Dan's first of two stories today is not sexy, despite being about a succubus. It's strange and upsetting.  His second story was once featured on  the original Unsolved Mysteries. It’s the tale of a young woman, Grace Brown, putting her trust in the wrong man over a century ago.  And it seems, in death, she still hasn’t been able to move past how her life so tragically and abruptly ended. Then, Lynze takes us to Australia! It's real, we promise. What kind of horrors and creatures are hiding in the bush? Then we finish with an unsettling entity+dream warning combo.

Dan's first of two stories takes us to London where two flatmates hung up a free mirror and very quickly regretted it. Then a heavily documented poltergeist story, coming from Indianapolis, Indiana back in 1962. Lynze brings us a tale from a patient in the ICU and her brush with something paranormal. And then we head to El Salvador, maybe for the first time on this show, to explore that culture and their beliefs about skinwalkers.

The first story today is an anonymous modern encounter centering around a college freshmen having a problem with her roommate, a problem that really escalates. Then, the second story is all about Georgia’s St. Simons Island and an alleged encounter with the island’s most infamous ghost. Then we have another college dorm story with a different twist. Lastly, a creepy shared experience between two sisters with an entity who lives in the deep end of the pool.

n this twenty-fourth installment of fictional horror written and narrated by Dan Cummins.... we explore the tale of a man who has recently gotten into a car accident with his wife and two daughters. And now he  can't accept that they seem to have all survived. Is he merely losing his mind as he starts to question whether or not his wife and daughters are truly still alive?  Or is something else, something supernatural, at play here?

This week begins with the anonymous claim of a man who believes he encountered something evil… something not human… while out delivering pizzas late on a Friday night. Did something order a meal to be delivered to them, and was that meal supposed to have been the person bringing the pizza instead of the pizza? Then, Dan covers the infamous Moberly-Jourdain  Incident.  Back in 1901, did two noted academics, Charlotte Ann Moberly and Eleanor Jourdain, slip over a hundred years out of their own time for several minutes while on a trip to France ?  It’s a very thought-provoking and creepy tale. Lynze begins with a straightforward haunted house- just classic! She finishes up the show with a unique tale about that feeling known as the "call of the void". It may or may not be paranormal but it is very bizarre, regardless.

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025! Dan starts us with  a very, very strange story set in Brazil in 1966 that sure reeks of an alien abduction. Then, we explore what seems to be an intensely haunted inn in Ashland, Massachusetts’: Stone’s Public House. Lynze brings us a classic-ish Hat Man tale followed up by a very peculiar hitchhiker story! Enjoy this start to 2025, friends!
