Full Hour | In today’s second hour, Giordano welcomes back Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate and former U.S. Attorney Bill McSwain to discuss the importance of school choice after a move by Governor Wolf that deals a huge blow to charter schools within Pennsylvania. McSwain, arguably the strongest candidate for school choice, tells the importance of allowing choice in school selection, particularly here in Philadelphia where the public schools underperform. McSwain explains the benefit of school choice, being the common sense concept of competition to encourage accountability for schools that get automatic public funding. Also, Giordano and McSwain discuss the passage of Act 77 and the Republican state lawmaker desire now to negate the bipartisan agreement that should’ve never been agreed upon in the first place, and McSwain tells why Pennsylvanians deserve a strong leader like him.

Then David P. Hardy, distinguished senior fellow at the Commonwealth Foundation and co-founder and retired CEO of Boys Latin, a charter school in Philadelphia, joins the Dom Giordano Program for a conversation about school choice. Hardy, a very well-regarded person in the education community, took aim at Governor Wolf on Twitter after Wolf changed rules, making it incredibly hard for charter schools to remain successful in Pennsylvania. Hardy and Giordano discuss the positives of school choice, comparing the differences in successes in public schools with those of charter schools, and telling of the importance of accountability pertaining to public schools.
