This might surprise you, but the "green industry", an industry involving a lot of money and some very nebulous concepts, isn't entirely on the up and up.  That doesn't mean you can't be green.  Just use a little scrutiny next time someone tells you about how green their business is.  Scott built Ed Begley Jr's latest house, and we all know how that guy is.  If he trusts someone to be green, it's certainly a good start.
