The End of the Requel. In June, this podcast released a spec script of "Scream 7" written by Los Angeles Times Best Selling writer Joey Vallese, performed and narrated by Ryan C. Showers. In this episode, Ryan and Joey are joined by Jess to discuss the podcast version of "Scream 7" with "Halloween Ends." The similarities are unintentional yet striking. In addition, Ryan and Joey announce plans for a "Scream 8" script featuring Gale Weathers as the lead coming early 2024. In addition, the trio discusses Christopher Landon as the director of the official "Scream 7" film.

This week Ryan flys solo (for the first time in the history of the podcast) to analyze the "assembly cut" of Scream 3. Recently, Scream-Trillogy.com made the October 1999 "assembly cut" of Scream 3 available to fans, with more than 30 minutes of extra, unseen footage of the the third film in the franchise. Included in this version is "ground zero" of all the scenes filmed by Wes Craven before the editing process began and the final film was shaped. Ryan analyzes the assembly cut and provides commentary into why things were rightfully cut from the theatrical film and which scenes should have been included in the final product.

No other Scream film has suffered in the editing room in the way Scream 4 did. More than a dozen scenes were left on the cutting room floor and several sequences were reshot. There is more than 20 minutes of film left out of the final cut, nearly 20% of the film's runtime. The result is Scream 4 was the shortest film in the series despite having the largest cast. In this episode, Ryan and a panel of guests investigate the deleted scenes and assert which scenes should have been included in the final cut of the film.

Gale Weathers and Courteney Cox made horror movie history with Scream VI. She is now the most featured horror heroine to appear consecutively in all the films in the series. She is now the only actor to appear in each film in the entry, a trend that broke for Neve Campbell and Sidney Prescott. In addition, Courteney Cox won a MTV Movie Award for her phone call and chase scene in Scream VI. And yet, this is perhaps the most controversial writing for the character in the series. Many fans have taken issue with how incomplete Gale's arc is, how regressively she is written after an epic evolution in the first five films. Join Ryan with Joey Vallese and Briana Beeman to dissect Gale in Scream VI.

In the second half of a two-part event, Ryan is joined by Zack Cherry for a special project. They combine Ryan's screentime data for the characters in the franchise with the character types Zack has outlined in his YouTube videos. Comparing similar characters by their presence in each film can help understand how each role is utilized in the Scream films as well as grant a better understanding of how the filmmakers build the mystery of the Ghostface killer. To see each character type and their screentimes, check out the ScreamWithRCS Patreon page.
