Ryan kicks off the 25th anniversary Patreon film reviews of the Scream-adjacent slasher films of 1998 with "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer." In October, Ryan and a panel of patreons reviewed the more revered original film. Now, SCREAM with Ryan C. Showers covers Julie and Ray's venture to the Bahamas for Fourth of July and the return of the Fisherman. The sequel dials up the camp and slasher craze, while shining a light on the breakout performance of Brandy and the improved final girl played by Jennifer Love Hewitt. One of the trademarks of the SCREAM with Ryan C. Showers podcast is Ryan's particular affinity for "Scream 3." And while "Scream 3" has become more popular in the fandom in recent years, the concluding chapter in the original trilogy was plagued with divisive opinions upon release and in subsequent years before "Scream 4." Ryan has dedicated so much of this podcast to championing "Scream 3." In this episode, he is joined by Josh and Justine from the Scream Queens Podcast to discuss the evolution of Scream 3 by public perception and how various aspects of the film will be permanently controversial and how others have been reconsidered.

Scream was known as the self-referential film that cineaphiles loved because their knowledge and interest of film was validated. The best avatar representing the meta aspect of the original film is Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy). In Scream 3, we were introduced briefly to his sister Martha (Heather Matarazzo). In the Radio Silence era, the bloodline continued with his niece, the horror movie expert Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and nephew, the jock with a heart of gold Chad (Mason Gooding Jr.) taking on central roles. This week, Ryan and Patreon guests take a analyze at the Meeks family collectively and the individual characters. In addition, Andre Felix, the editor of Zack Cherry's podcast, The Cherry Picker, joins Ryan for the introduction for a mini battle: Scream 5 v. Scream 6.

Hayden Panetierre's return to the fan-favorite role of Kirby Reed in "Scream VI" injected a certain amount of excitement and hope in fans last summer during the rocky production of "Scream VI" after Neve Campbell announced she would not return to the franchise due to a pay dispute. Kirby was the perfect avatar to make fans excited again. In this week's episode, Ryan is joined by Kirby expert Justin to discuss the execution of Kirby's return to "Scream" and analyze her character development after her fate was uncertain for more than ten years after "Scream 4." In addition, Ryan and Justin discuss the possibility of Jenna Ortega's busy schedule conflicting with "Scream 7" and what that could mean for the next film.
