Ah friends, our world is slowly going to hell in a hand-basket with all the evil and ungodliness that's currently prevalent in it. And the only way to stop the demise and fall is by turning back to the worshipping of the God of Abraham, Isaac and jacob, the ONE TRUE God. But to do that, we also need godly leaders. Leaders who are willing to sacrifice their very lives in the work of the Lord, by seriously and sincerely going against the devil and his evil cohorts and teaching the people the truth about God, not the lies, false stories and slanted tales that so many of the current leaders are teaching. But then too, we individual believers also need to get ourselves together and do our small part in our neighbourhoods, and build the groundswell or grassroots of Christ's church, for that's where many of us can make a positive difference. So let's get to it nuh, if we desire to see serious, godly change in our world. Much LOVE!
God expects His ambassadors and their families to have high standards of conduct, and if they don't, the whole family can possibly suffer, like the family of Eli, the priest, lost their priestly favour because of the sinful behaviour of his sons Hophni and Phineas. Although Eli's behaviour was above reproach and he had rebuked his sons, they caused the downfall of their father's house by continuing their sinfulness. And, contrary to popular opinion, our behaviour hurts not only us, but also those around us. That means we have to be careful of our behaviour if we don't want to hurt those we LOVE. So please, let's start paying serious attention to our behaviour nuh, and ensure that it's in line with God's expectations. Much LOVE!
Our world is in a crazy and troubled mess and there are no real strongholds or places of refuge for us except in Jesus. That means unless we are holding on to Jesus, our lives will most likely be in a state of chaos like our world. But when we hold on to the promises of Jesus we can ride out the storms and problems with His peace, that's unlike the peace that the world offers. So the wise thing to do in these evil and ungodly times is to hold on Jesus, for better days will surely come! Much LOVE!
In yesterday's Bit we saw the serious prayer of Hannah, Samuel's mother for a boy child, and how the Lord reacted positively by giving her not only Samuel, but also three sons and two daughters. Today we see how she keeps her promise to give Him to the Lord's service for all of his life, and then her song of victory that came ever so faithfully from her heart. Now, that's how we ought also to keep our promises to God, and then show that overwhelming appreciative and thankful attitude for His LOVING-kindness in our lives. If we claim to believe in a God that's higher and mightier than us, then we need to live a life that shows it, both in speech and actions. So today, let's boost both our speech and action to spread God's Word by truly living as the salt of the earth and the light of the world! Much LOVE!
In the bad old days of Israel, when there was no king, everybody did as they pleased. That meant morality and attention to God's law was very weak. But if a society wants to prosper, there must be a strong moral code and much adherence to God's overall law. For where there is little or none of that, the nation will eventually fall into death-like state, filled with chaos and strife. And that's exactly what's happening in our world today. Not enough of us are cognizant of God's law that we can make a significant difference in the world. And until and unless we believers step up resolutely to the plate and do what we know needs to be done, our world will continue sinking into the mire of evil and ungodliness. The fate of our world lies in our hands. Please, let's not make Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf a wasted one. Let's get the job done in His name! Much LOVE!
There are lots of good scriptures in the Bible that can be taken out of context and used for selfish purposes, but it's something we must avoid doing, because it does not bring true or godly success. It is a sin if we take the Bible and use the scripture found therein in a false or evil sense. It's like so many of the false teachers and preachers are doing nowadays; using God's Word to line their pockets or twist others to their false beliefs. Jesus and many other scripture writers warned about false teachers and prophets, who would use the Word for their own selfish purposes, and we're seeing that happen more than ever today. So please be careful in whom and what you listen to. Don't believe anything you hear until you personally check it out in the Bible! And if the Word of God doesn't corroborate it, then don't believe it! Much LOVE!
The Holy Spirit of Christ is our Comforter, Helper, Guide and Director for this earthly life. But He speaks in a still, small voice, and if we're not listening closely, then we won't hear His guidance and direction. However, with the amount of loud noise that currently permeates our world that's very difficult to do without the peace of Christ dwelling in our souls. Now Christ's peace is nothing like what the world calls peace. His peace is a quietness of spirit, a lack of worry and confident trust in Almighty God. And only with that sort of assurance and confidence will we ever be able to hear the Holy Spirit whisper to our hearts and show us the right way to go. That's why it's ever so important to gain the peace of Christ. So let's seek Christ's peace today nuh, so that we can be led along the straight and narrow path. Much LOVE!
Jesus is a kind and LOVING Master, but He does not put up with nonsense, with laziness and that sort of thing. He expects those who claim to His followers to live a life of diligence and excellence, doing the things He commands them to do, like LOVING each other, spreading His word and showing the world His true nature, being a brilliant example of His teaching and life. And in this evil and ungodly world that sort of living is badly needed so that the world can turn around and come back to its original godly character. Let's remember that we are Jesus' ambassadors and agents on this earth, and people will only see Him through us, so please, let's live the life Christ died for us to have nuh, and not the wishy-washy, lazy, indulgent one we're currently living. Much LOVE!
We like to call ourselves disciples of Christ, but is that really true? Not unless we're totally obedient to His commandments, especially that of LOVING each other. Oh, plenty of us talk the LOVE talk, but don't truly walk the LOVE walk, and that just makes us hypocrites, causing the unbeliever to turn away from truly wanting to be a follower of Christ. Thus we are not performing our desired task of bearing fruit, of encouraging others to come to Jesus, and therefore cannot consider ourselves true disciples of Christ, for ONLY total Obedience and LOVE for each other qualifies us to use that name. So, if we truly ant to bring forth fruit for Christ's kingdom, let's amend our ungodly ways nuh, and practice total Obedience and LOVE for each other! Much LOVE!
Oh my people, Jesus is the ONLY person we truly need to cling to, the ONLY One who can really do anything for us in this life. All other promises are either fakes or can't hold water because they are promised by mankind whose power to keep promises is almost non-existent. But Jesus is the name by which salvation can be attained, by which healing and heaven are possible. That means we need to desire Him as much as we possibly can, for all that we have and are are based directly on Him, on His broad and sinless shoulders that paid for our sins on the cross of Calvary! And if we'd only take Jesus seriously, our world would definitely not be in the terrible state of sinfulness and ungodliness in which it's currently mired. So, if we want to see changes, then we have to change, grow to desire Jesu like the deer pants and thirsts for the sweet water found in the brooks, the oases of the deserts. Much LOVE!
