"La Familia"

Monsignor Laurence Higgins was best known as an outspoken proponent of the family. He believed that it is in the home that faith is passed on and character is formed. This conviction flowed from the strong bonds within his own family, especially the dedicated examples practiced by his father and mother.

“As I think back on everything I have witnessed in my priesthood, it is clear to me that the person we become in this
world can always be traced to our experiences in the family.”

“Children need to see their parents praying and going to church.”

Laurence E. Higgins
