Dr. Mercy interviews Johnny Oye who is a fitness trainer and life coach. Johnny practices exercise physiology with stroke patients and persons with traumatic brain injury. Originally from New Orleans, Johnny received a BS from Tulane University and practiced sports conditioning at the New Orleans Athletic Club. After relocating to New Port Richey near Tampa, Florida Johnny opened his own studio Joyefit Institute where he offers a full program of mind, body, and spirit integration. On the program The Brain as Chemistry, he discussed the use of exercise including yoga to change the chemistry of the brain and stimulate the neurotransmitters. This in turn affects the thoughts and emotions. Johnny is particularly fascinated by the ability of exercise to shift negative thinking to positive and grateful thoughts and feelings.
