  • 176. How to Stop Comparing Yourself to Others (and your past self) with Sarah Hauser

Feeling trapped in the deadly, motivation-destroying comparison game? It could be with other women, but maybe it’s with your own self…your own body.

My guest today was constantly looking back at how strong and fit she was back in the day, before she had kids (twins!), and just felt disappointed about where her body was now. As a former athlete, she felt like she had lost it all throughout her mothering years.

I’m talking with Sarah Hauser, a busy mom just like you that was really hard on herself and kept comparing - forcing herself to keep doing what she had always done before. And it wasn’t until she finally broke down and did something VERY SPECIFIC that allowed her to get past that comparison trap. We chat about:

    • What drove her all-or-nothing behaviors
    • The pitfalls of trying to force an old workout routine into a new season of life
    • Running and half marathons
    • Postpartum depression and Postpartum anxiety
    • Diastasis Recti and postpartum fitness
    • Refusing to ask for help

This is one of the best conversations I’ve had. You’re going to love it.

  • 174. Rest, Reset and Sabbath as a Busy Mom with Deanna Mason

I recorded this interview with Deanna Mason, rest consultant and the creator of Refreshed Moms, in the middle of the most chaotic months of my life. Everything in me craved a full, deep Sabbath rest. But in my situation, that seemed impossible. What I learned from Deanna in this conversation is that I needed to reframe what I thought Sabbath and true rest was supposed to look like.

This episode may not be for everyone, and that’s ok.

But if you’re overwhelmed, exhausted, and craving some semblance of REST, this will be balm to your soul. You’ll come away with a deeper understanding of what Sabbath actually means (going back to the Biblical roots), and how to catch meaningful moments of it in your life, not matter what season you’re in.

  • 168. How long does it really take to create a habit and see results?

How long does it actually take to create a lasting habit and start seeing real results? Is it two weeks? 21 days? 6 months?

Tune in, because the answer is not at all what you’re expecting.

You’ve been told all sorts of timeframes and have developed expectations that probably aren’t very accurate. But knowing the real timelines dictates whether you get frustrated and give up, or if you stick it out and actually get the results you want.

If you’re constantly playing the yo-yo game with your routines - committed for a little while, then losing steam - it could be because you’re giving up RIGHT before the magic happens.

Wouldn’t you want to know when that is?!
