After 40 days of a standoff, the bill advanced by a vote of 60-40, just barely meeting the 60 votes needed to keep it moving forward. Travel disruptions at major airports are expected to worsen this week with airlines already canceling nearly 1,600 flights for Monday and nearly 1,000 for Tuesday as Congress works to reach a deal to reopen the federal government.
