Serial Killer Files returns by telling the story of one of the world's most infamous serial killers...Ted Bundy.

Theodore Robert Bundy was an American serial killer who kidnapped, raped, and murdered numerous young women and girls during the 1970s and possibly earlier. After more than a decade of denials, he confessed to 30 murders committed in seven states between 1974 and 1978.

Biographer Ann Rule characterized him as "a sadistic sociopath who took pleasure from another human's pain and the control he had over his victims, to the point of death and even after." Bundy once described himself as "the most cold-hearted son of a bitch you'll ever meet," a statement with which attorney Polly Nelson, a member of his last defense team, agreed. "Ted," she wrote, "was the very definition of heartless evil."

Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, was an American serial killer and sex offender who killed and dismembered seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991.

Sada Abe was a Japanese geisha and prostitute who murdered her lover, Kichizō Ishida by erotic asphyxiation. She cut off his *procreation station* and carried them around in her kimono. The story became the stuff of legend and has been interpreted by artists, philosophers, novelists, and filmmakers. Abe was released after serving merely five years in prison and went on to become a nun and publish an autobiography.

In this episode of Anatomy of Murder, we delve into the background and crime of Edward Gingerich, the first-ever convicted Amish murderer.

On March 18, 1993, Gingerich had been severely depressed and threatening suicide. That day he entered his kitchen where Katie was working and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground. He shouted at her, “I am the devil.” Katie yelled to her six-year-old son Dannie and told him to fetch Dan Gingerich, Edward’s brother. When the young boy arrived at his uncle’s house, he said that “Daddy isn’t well.” Knowing of his brother’s illness, Dan raced to Edward and Katie’s home and was met with a gruesome scene.

When he arrived, Edward was on top of Katie and punching her in the face. He stood up and smashed his right foot into her mouth and nose. Dan tried to stop his brother but then fled to the nearest house to seek more help. Meanwhile, Edward put on his work boots and again smashed his wife in the face, crushing her head until her brains began oozing out. He then undressed his wife’s corpse, grabbed a steak knife, and slashed open her stomach. Edward reached inside her and removed her heart, lungs, spleen, liver, kidneys, ovaries, and intestines, then stacked these in a neat pile beside her corpse. He then washed himself in the sink, threw his Bible into the fireplace, and told the children to put on their coats. He told them he was taking them to their grandfather’s home and then returning to burn down the house. Fortunately, for his children’s sake, Edward did not make it that far...

In the case of the first convicted Amish homicide, it is difficult to say if the murder may have been avoided had Edward been given the help he needed. While he had been briefly hospitalized, the reliance on drug-free natural treatment did nothing to help Edward with his inner demons.   A man who often begged his family for help would imagine them as the worst things possible in his hallucinations. Whether religious or not, Edward could be described as possessed, though perhaps not by literal demons, but by the delusions of a deranged mind.

Robert Pickton is a former Canadian pig farmer who became a vicious serial killer. He is suspected of being one of the most prolific serial killers in Canadian history. After dropping out of school, Pickton left a butcher's apprenticeship to begin working full-time at his family's pig farm. Pickton confessed to 49 murders to an undercover agent, who was posing as a cellmate. He told the officer that he wanted to kill another woman to make it an even 50, and that he was caught because he was "sloppy"...

The 1991 Austin yogurt shop killings are an unsolved quadruple homicide that took place at an I Can't Believe It's Yogurt! shop in Austin, Texas, on Friday, December 6, 1991. The victims were four teenage girls: 13-year-old Amy Ayers (or Ayres), 17-year-old Eliza Thomas, 17-year-old Jennifer Harbison and Jennifer's 15-year-old sister Sarah.

10. IN THE OVEN (J'zyra Thompson) - Texas toddler burns to death in the oven after 'game with siblings' goes wrong.
9. TABOO (Derek & Alex King) - On Nov. 26, 2001, Derek (13) and Alex (12) beat their father (Terry Lee King) to death in Cantonment, Florida.
8. GAMES GONE WRONG (Rochester, NY) - A 3-year-old boy threw a stone at his 6-year-old brother, who retaliated by throwing a BRICK and repeatedly striking his brother with a wooden baseball bat. The toddler later died of internal bleeding.
7. OVERDOSE (Christopher Pittman) - On Nov. 28, 2001, a 12-year-old boy murdered his grandparents, Joe & Joy Pittman. He claimed that paranormal entities had influenced his actions.
6. DEADLY INSPIRATION (Daniel Bartlam) - In April 2011, Daniel killed his mother, Jacqueline. While she was asleep, he attacked her repeatedly with a hammer and set her on fire to conceal his crime.
5. BOY WITH ASPERGERS (England) - A 13-year-old boy with Asperger's syndrome killed his six-month-old brother by repeatedly stabbing him and cutting off his left hand as he lay in his crib.
4. ENOUGH (John Caudle) - On Oct. 26, 2009, a 14-year-old boy murdered his stepfather and mother in their home southwest of Monte Vista.
3. FAMILY MASSACRE (Marcelo Pesseghini) - A 13-year-old boy in Sao Paulo shot and killed his police officer parents as well as his grandmother and great-aunt with a .40 caliber pistol before spending a full day at school and then taking his own life.
2. THE TIES THAT BIND (Jasmine Richardson) - In April 2006, 12-year-old Jasmine and her 23-year-old boyfriend killed three members of her family in Alberta, Canada.

1. Final Business Revenge (Marvin Heemeyer) - was an American automobile muffler repair shop owner who, following a dispute with town officials, demolished numerous buildings with a modified bulldozer in Granby, Colorado, on June 4, 2004.
2. Dr. Ch@os (Joseph Konopka) - an American citizen who served 16 years of a 20-year prison sentence for arson, vandalism, and possessing chemical weapons. He was released in 2019 and stated he would not resume his prior activities and expressed interest in pursuing White Hat hacking as a career.
3. Papa Doc (François Duvalier) - was a Haitian politician of French Martiniquan descent who served as the President of Haiti from 1957 until his death. He was elected president in the 1957 general election on a populist and black nationalist platform.

3 Deadliest Hit-Men of All Time (Contract Killers): Abe Reles, Joseph Barboza, and Richard Kuklinski.

1. Abraham "Kid Twisted" Reles - was a New York Jewish mobster who was a hitman for Murder, Inc., the enforcement contractor for Meyer Lansky's National Crime Syndicate. Reles later turned government witness and sent several members of Murder, Inc. to the electric chair.
2. Joseph "The Animal" Barboza - was an American mobster and notorious mob hitman for the Patriarca crime family of New England during the 1960s.
3. Richard Kuklinski - was an American criminal and convicted contract killer. Kuklinski was engaged in criminal activities for most of his adult life; he ran a burglary ring and distributed pirated pornography. He committed at least five murders between 1980 and 1984.

1. The Lonely Hearts Killers - Martha Beck and Raymond Martinez Fernandez, are executed in the electric chair at Sing Sing Prison in New York. The couple had schemed to seduce, rob, and murder women who placed personal ads in newspapers.
2. They Killed Their Own - Frederick Walter "Fred" West and Rosemary Pauline "Rose" West were an English married duo of serial killers and serial rapists who killed at least a dozen young British girls, including several of their own daughters.
3. The Moors Murders - Murders carried out by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley between July 1963 and October 1965, in and around Manchester, England. The victims were five children—Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Keith Bennett, Lesley Ann Downey, and Edward Evans—aged between 10 and 17, at least four of whom were sexually assaulted.
