Jesus promised his disciples that the world woudl hate them. He let them know that the Holy Spirit will be their source of strength, power and effectiveness. Pentecost proved Him right.

Jesus teaches us to know that during times of trouble, there are two things on which the believer can hold. First, there is hope of our eternal home. Second, there is the infilling of the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus lets us know that as His followers, we must be willing to lay down our lives in order to find them. Jesus lived for the glory of God, and He died for the glory of God. We follow His example.

Jesus came to give life and give it more abundantly. Christian need to be the voice for those who have no voice, and should seek the value of life for our society. (Proverbs 3:8)

God’s delays when prayers are offered to Him can really test our faith. The mature believer understands that God is perfect in His timing, and the Christian that believes through every circumstance knows he will see the glory of God revealed in his life.

Jesus was never self-promoting. He deserves to be the Shepherd and demonstrates how he is not like the leaders who kicked out of the synagogue the man who was healed of blindness. The Shepherd we follow desires for us to live abundantly.

When the disciples saw a man born blind, they asked “Who sinned?” The world often gets caught up in “who sinned?” Jesus was not so interested in the question. His concern was to reveal the Father’ heart and love for them. That should be our heart.
