Jesus modeled for the disciples what servant leadership looks like. He was going to send them out into the world and wanted the to know that they lead with a new commandment…to love one another.

Jesus lets us know that as His followers, we must be willing to lay down our lives in order to find them. Jesus lived for the glory of God, and He died for the glory of God. We follow His example.

Jesus came to give life and give it more abundantly. Christian need to be the voice for those who have no voice, and should seek the value of life for our society. (Proverbs 3:8)

God’s delays when prayers are offered to Him can really test our faith. The mature believer understands that God is perfect in His timing, and the Christian that believes through every circumstance knows he will see the glory of God revealed in his life.

Jesus was never self-promoting. He deserves to be the Shepherd and demonstrates how he is not like the leaders who kicked out of the synagogue the man who was healed of blindness. The Shepherd we follow desires for us to live abundantly.

When the disciples saw a man born blind, they asked “Who sinned?” The world often gets caught up in “who sinned?” Jesus was not so interested in the question. His concern was to reveal the Father’ heart and love for them. That should be our heart.

The Lord expects us to plan and, and He wants us to. The longer we live, the more we realize that He ordains our steps. Understanding this removes disappointment and causes us to focus on the faithfulness of God.

Jesus addresses the ones who were starting to believe in Him. He tells them that they must continue in the Word in order to truly be His disciples. The Word is the only thing that can set us free and form us into the image of Jesus Christ.

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.

Jesus knew this world was not his home. He came to bring the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit of God is always a different spirit than is in the world.
