God will certainly judge 100% of unbelief and rebellion with everlasting destruction; Do not falsely rest in a past salvation experience without present trust and obedience.

Even as Jude comforts the recipients of his letter with the certainty of their election in Christ, he heightens his warning by noting these false teachers' damnation is rooted in God's plan in eternity past. God pre-determined those he would not draw in grace to repentance and regeneration, but instead harden their hearts in sin and rebellion and justly pour his wrath out on them in retribution for their sins.

Those who profess to love and follow Jesus, yet deliberately live contrary to his teaching are false teachers. Christians must correct them and separate from them. Christians must also be careful that their confidence in God’s free forgiveness doesn’t lead them to be lax towards sin in their own life.

The beginning of nearly every New Testament letter is a blessing spoken to the reader to remind them of the warmth of God’s tender affection towards them. Christian correction grows in the fertile soil of God’s kindness towards sinners. The reality of the child of God’s life is one of exponentially multiplied happiness as their lives move on towards glory. 

Jude addresses the recipients of his fiery letter of warning by calling their attention to who they are in God. Our self-understanding as believers is grounded in the reality that we are unchangeably loved and held by God.

From the very beginning God’s people have been harassed by evil spirits and evil men who would seek to turn people from saving truth for their own pleasure, pride, and profit. God’s children must diligently guard the gospel in their minds, lives, and gatherings and continue to evangelize those who are wrapped up in error – looking to Jesus who is the cause and keeper of our salvation.

God’s hand of providence is present in natural events, coincidences, human actions and reactions, birth and death, and every moment of history simultaneously, beginning to end, for his good purpose.

Scripture warns us against grumbling and complaining. Yet, it also sets out Godly examples of expressing our misery. God hears us, empathizes with us, and works for our blessing when we bring our complaints to him in faith and love.
