We conclude our series Faith in Far Away Places, as Pastor Dave preaches the sermon “Wait Wisely” (Daniel 10-12). “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” (Dan. 12:2-3)

In deeply troubling times, God’s word comforts. “… a word was revealed to Daniel… the word was true… he understood the word and had understanding of the vision” (Dan. 10:1); God’s perspective matters: “Then he said to me, ‘Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.’” (Dan. 10:12); and God’s love pacifies: “And he said, ‘O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.’” (Dan. 10:19).

Grace Beyond Imagine

How does God's rule make sense of historical events, speak to his faithfulness towards us, and guide us as we face the uncertainty of future events? 

We resume our series in Daniel, Faith in Far Away Places. In Daniel 7, God reassures His people that He is sovereign over all the evil kingdoms of men and will ultimately give His everlasting kingdom to His people through Christ. Pastor Chris helps us identify our need to know for certain that God is in control as he builds his kingdom with His Son and for His people.

One of the few things more incomprehensible than the glory of God is the magnitude of his grace towards us in Jesus Christ. By grace we have been saved, but this salvation entails far more than just the forgiveness of our sins. As we begin a new year, we pause to focus on the breadth of God’s blessings to us in Christ Jesus.
