Shared Struggle

Dia duit agus fáilte a chairde - hello and welcome friends

This week is episode 28!
I had the privilege this week to speak with Deirdre Owens. We met on a virtual group chat and when I found out her story I had to ask to have her on. Thankfully Deirdre was kind enough to give me her time, even if she had a few scoops the night before haha.
It is a terrifying story of hardship, murder, grief and isolation. But of course it is from a time of war and a city at the heart of it all. The beautiful Belfast!
Only a few hours up the road from where
I was born in reared in Co Cork but I couldn’t be further removed from what Deirdre and her family and friends endured. Which is a good thing for me of course but at what cost?
The cost is that the government of the 26 counties totally disregarded what people had endured, are going through and will experience going forward in the northern six counties of Ireland.

Here is just one of the stories. I hope we can support the survivors going forward and huge amount work is done in order to do so!

Go raibh míle maith agaibh a chairde!

This week myself and my wife talk about our last week.
So much revealed to us and so much undertaken.
From diagnosis of OCD Disorder to road trip to New England.
Trying to find long lost cousins on AncestryDNA and uncovering that I am the king of Cork with 99% DNA from that region!
Boston trip was spectacular as we explain and Salem was like stepping in a time capsule.
All explained here and some pictures can be seen on my instagram just search up_my_own_hole
I have put some over the video also on YouTube so if you are chilling at home make a nice cuppa and stick your feet up for you now have almost 2hours of content.

Fáilte a chairde

This week I’m joined by the wife for a “puck around” on the Jersey Sure. We try to recall a story we learned recently and if you are listening and not watching 90% of the facts are incorrect but the story is on the right track. If you are watching on YouTube I tried my best to correct the mistakes with on screen graphics and information.
The story though, is amazing and one that would , I imagine, clarified to young rebels hearing the story that the future was to keep pushing for United Ireland. It’s a story of hope and rescue. Of brotherhood and rebellion.
Two Corkmen ripped from their homes and family only to be rescued on the other side of the world by  fellow fenian brothers.
1800s to today and we still speak about the same occupier of our beautiful little island of saints and scalars.
I think it’s high time we completely regain our full control of our land and in a nice peaceful manner.
Thank you to :
The Fenian memorial committee of America
@thegealicamerican
Co. Cork Association
And many other groups who were a part of the organisation for such a fantastic weekend!

Hello and welcome everyone!

This week I tell some stories and I pull a card from a deck, read it and answer it for ye. The card is from a story telling deck. It helps the flow and ultimately makes you think of stuff to talk about when you pull a blank.

I hope you enjoy!

Thank you 🙏

Welcome all

Tá súil go bhfuil tú go maith!

I’ve bought a new selfie stick and I’m off out for a walk.
I’m walking and talking about my week here in jersey city. I talk about the fantastic event that took place in Dublin on Saturday called #irelandsfuture and my love for Mary Lou.
I speak about some couples counselling and how it is becoming easier but we’re never perfect.
I finished with some motivational words for anyone who has yet to forgive themselves for bad decisions they made in the past.

I hope you enjoy a chairde

Go raibh míle maith agat 💚

This week I have Sara on my podcast. Sara has a passion for children and their rights and she tells how that gradually happened. Sara was a great guest and the conversation just had a beautiful natural flow.
We speak about her up coming book and her young friend in prison. We speak about Sara’s life in Ireland and her time now in Scotland.
But anyway click in and hear all about it!

Thank you Sara both for the work you do and for coming on 💚

Please enjoy 😊

Lightning lights up the sky on a couple of occasions so this one will be probably better to watch on YouTube!

This week I’m elaborating on last week’s podcast and I’m telling a few crazy stories I have been part of over the years in all different geographical locations.
There might also be a part two to this but we’ll see 😉

This week I’m rambling about how an unstable foundation can cause so much distress and how addiction can cause you to lose so much.
I’m good today thank god!

This week myself and my wife talk about the importance of rupture repairs and how without counselling we would be lost. We are reaching new heights in our recovery from childhood trauma and we are breaking the cycle.
We are very grateful to you all for listening.
