If you have ever hated the saying, "Everything happens for a reason." or "It could be worse." this episode is for you!
We explore the topic of positivity and how it can be destructive in some cases. This was an interesting topic we had not thought of a lot before discussing. We all have certain behaviors in ourselves or when talking others could result in this. We need to be more aware. Some of these could be hiding how we really feel, shaming others for feeling negative emotions, feeling guilty for having negative emotions, or dismissing our own emotions. Sometimes just reframing how we express our emotions or say things can change a situation.
We'd love to have you continue to share in the discussion over in our private facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/sharingherjourney/

Maria Simpson is married to her high school sweetheart Jed, together they have 5 children and love to ski and boat together. She has been a personal trainer for the past 9 years. After developing very disordered eating and compulsive exercise habits she took time off to recover. Once recovered she found herself 45 lbs. heavier, struggling with body shame, and realized she needed to separate her worth from her body size and improve her relationship with food. As she did this her passion shifted towards helping others learn to do the same. She hopes to empower women to find the food freedom and body acceptance that she now enjoys.
We had such a great conversation as Maria shared her journey and how she was able to ditch diet culture and choose body love.
She wrote an ebook as well as workbook filled with everything she learned to help guide others to becoming Body Love Bosses. You can find those on her website: www.bodyloveboss.com
