Meet Anne H. Steffensen, General Manager and CEO of the Danish Shipowners' Association, Copenhagen.
Anne used to be the Danish Ambassador to the UK, then jumped into the job as the CEO of the Danish Shipowners Association and have never looked back. She has become an advocate for the shipping industry, even if she has always enjoyed spending time with the people in the maritime community.
Listen to Anne Steffensen's view on how the digital transformation will have an impact on the shipping industry and her view on how we need to focus more on what we contribute with to the society to become more visible.
Thank you for listening, I would love to her your thoughts about the topics we discuss. Feel free to comment in social media, look for the Shipping Podcast in all channels or go to the website www.shippingpodcast.com and comment there.
Anne and I had so much to talk about, so I forgot to take her picture. The photo you see is the official photo of Anne - maybe that was for the best...
You don't want to miss this episode, the 59th, where we dare to talk about things that could change our industry in the future, especially the mindset of us, working in the industry.
Märtha Rehnberg, Partner, Dare Disrupt is a technology optimist and critical thinker, who is passionate about the environment and tech.
Listen to the advice of a young woman looking into the future for the maritime industry. We discuss innovation and how that is done nowadays and compare that to the mindset and culture within the maritime industry.
Märtha do not think that the shipping industry needs to get more well-known to the public, we are transporting things from A to B and as long as that is done without any hickups, maybe we shouldn't get more into the public domain.

Christopher Rex is the Head of Research at the Danish Ship Finance in Copenhagen and a very insightful analyst. We talk about how digitalisation will change the industry, how consumer behaviour is impacting the trade patterns of the world as much as re-sourcing production back to North America and Europe and how the ultra large vessels cannot be used in all trade lanes and how that will impact the shipbuilding industry.
It's a full episode with a lot of considering all the parameters that are influencing the paradigm that the shipping industry is in. You need to hear this, please note that the interview was done on January 24th, 2017, when you listen.
Join into the conversation, what do you think? Are we heading in the right direction? Did we miss anything? You can either visit the website www.shippingpodcast.com and comment or find the Shipping Podcast in social media, like Twitter or Facebook.

Meet Marthe Lamp Sandvik, a young star in the shipping industry. She sounds very gentle, but there is in depth knowledge, power and a brilliant mind behind the first impression.
Marthe is the Chief Operating Officer at Lorentzen & Stemoco, but but she has worked as an oil and tanker analyst as well, despite her young age.
We talk about what happens in the tanker market, how "green shipping" will have an impact, if any, on all crude oil that is being transported around the globe. We discuss the change, the paradigm we are in right now and Marthe has so many valuable input on how the young generation views the shipping industry.

Meet Lindsay Malen, Director of Business Development, Future Care Inc. a young woman who entered the maritime industry as a first response call line operator, engaging with Captains and Chief Engineers, who needed telemedical advice and got to understand the industry that she knew nothing about, and is now the business develop director of the same company.
Lindsay explains how the new Maritime, Labour Convention of 2006, MLC, require Shipowners to have a telemedical advice service onboard their ships. She says that they have seen it all, but right now they are seeing a lot more cardiac issues on board, probably as a consequence of the crew shortage right now, Shipowners tend to try and do their best to retain their crew, which may lead them to have older Captains, for example.
Listening to Lindsay is fascinating, it might be a niche part of the shipping industry, but it's definitely a forward thinking young woman you will get to know.
Please tell everyone you meet, that there is a Shipping Podcast and that they can download it to their mobile or listen in front of the screen via the website www.shippingpodcast.com and that I love feedback! Open, in social media, or via mail to [email protected]
