France will ban smoking in all outdoor places that children visit, according to their Health and Family Minister.

The ban will come into force from July 1st and will include beaches, parks, public gardens, outside schools, bus stops and sports venues. Ireland was a trend-setter on the indoor smoking ban back in 2004; should we follow France this time?
