Welcome to another episode of the Show Up with Sarah Podcast! Today will be a solo episode. I've been wondering how I wanted to bring you solo episodes, and what struck me this week was the realization that I ask my guests to come here and share their origin stories with me and I am not with you. If I do the same with my clients, I have to do the same with you. I am very transparent.
Let’s dive in!
[00:01 - 2:04] Opening Segment
[ 2:05 - 39:25] Why am I so passionate about being an opportunity coach?
[ 39:26 - 41:54] Closing Segment

Welcome to another episode of Show Up with Sarah! This episode is very special because you’ll have the chance to sit in on a live session with a brave and vulnerable person. You'll get to see how a session can unfold, the questions asked, and the path to discovery.
In this first episode of the Behind the Scenes series, please let me introduce you to Lauren Fielder. She is an intelligent, ambitious, and charismatic woman who has done a lot of work in the past year. However, despite all these, she still finds herself stuck. Lauren showed up for the opportunity to have a session recorded for an episode of Show Up with Sarah. Listen in on how a session with Sarah works and what thoughts and roots Sarah and Lauren discover!
I do not currently work with Lauren and BTS guests do not pay for their session. To volunteer to be a BTS guest, email [email protected].

“I think what I've learned is that I can literally go from rock bottom, and I'm still fine.” - Lauren Fielder
“The first thing that we need to get you on board with is letting go of that shame, because it's not going to help you move forward, it's only that self judgment that keeps you in the past. And there's so much around how this has bettered you and how technically, if you look at it, if you step back, you can be like, okay, yeah, actually, this all really was to my benefit.” - Sarah Hipps

Welcome to another episode of Show Up with Sarah! Today we will be chatting with Jose Lugo who is now 34 years old. He would join an L.A. street gang when he was 16, and would be convicted and sentenced to 5 years in prison at the age of 18. When he was paroled from prison, he vowed to himself that he would never go back and dreamed of one day telling the stories of his peers
In this episode, Jose shares with us how he would go through life never fully understanding the value in his own story. At the age of 31 he would return to jail for a D.U.I, and after his 3-day incarceration, he had lost all hope. He took inventory of his life and saw himself only as a criminal with no value. On the brink of taking his own life, he cried out to God and was able to remember a simple truth that he had believed as a child - that he as a person had inherent value and that his story had meaning. It was at that moment that he was able to find the value in his story once again.
Jose is the founder and lead creative of We Are All One Story. He currently travels the country listening to and sharing peoples stories. He also just finished his memoir, Love, Faith and Violence: A True Song and Story.

Tweetable Quotes:
“There's so much good, it's just our own pain that blinds us from feeling the fullness of the good that's out there, because maybe we don't think we deserve it.” - Jose Lugo
“The only way you're gonna succeed is that you have to love the day to day, right?” - Jose Lugo

Welcome to another episode of the Show Up with Sarah Podcast! Today is going to be a solo episode because I feel compelled to discuss with you guys the idea of surviving vs. thriving. I decided that I wanted to discuss this because it's something that I noticed so much with not just my clients, but with everybody, myself included. And when I talk to people about surviving, usually the people who come to work with me, is because they have set in a survival technique or tactic that is now hindering themselves. Which now needs to be shifted from survival to thriving.
In this episode we will be talking about the difference between surviving and thriving, and how to switch from the former to the latter. Make sure to tune until the end, because I will be sharing a lot more personal stores that I’m sure you can learn something from. Let’s dive in!
[00:01 - 5:27| Opening Segment
[05:28 - 15:12| Let’s talk about Survival
[15:13 - 28:43] How Thriving Looks Like
[28:44 - 33:44| Closing Segment
Tweetable Quotes:
“And so I realized, at a certain point, that what I thought were qualities that made me a good person, were actually just survival tactics that I had learned at a young age that I was still using, in times that I should be thriving by being an adult. ” - Sarah Hipps

YDFA is on a mission to Show Up for others, by providing free coping kits for those who need support.
In this episode, Keaton shares with us his story and how this has inspired him to provide an avenue to make mental health be part of the conversation. We also talked about how our culture drives the difference in mental health between men and women, and how having radical acceptance was key to his growth journey.
