Dr Hesham Al-Awadi was born in Kuwait and educated in the United Kingdom. He completed his BA, MA, MPhil and PhD in the field of Middle Eastern Politics and History, in various British universities including the University of Cambridge and Exeter.

He also has a Diploma in Islamic Studies from the Institute of Islamic Studies, Cairo.

He was a lecturer of Middle Eastern History for graduates and undergraduates at George Washington University in the United States, and at Exeter University in the United Kingdom. Currently, he is a professor of history at the American University of Kuwait.

He is an author of numerous books and produced audio albums including: Children around the Prophet: How Muhammad Raised the Young Companions (2005), Women Inspired by the Beloved (2007) and The Four Great Imams (2004).

The Sheikh memorized the Qur’an and became a student of knowledge at a very young age. He studied under prominent Shuyookh, which include Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid Rahimahullah, Abdul-Aziz bin Abd-Allah bin Baz Rahimahullah, Sheikh Salih bin Ali An-Nasir Rahimahullah and Sheikh Al-Muhaddith Abdullah As-Sa’d.

In the year 1410 Hijrah, he graduated from the College of Sharia in Riyadh and secured his masters in the year 1413.

He began his career as a judge in Riyadh and in Tabook and thereafter, was appointed to the prestigious position of the Imam of Masjid An-Nabawi.

Besides that, the Sheikh has authored several books; few of which include Khutub Al-Munbariyya (khutbahs), Facilitating Attainment in the Explanation of the Three Usool, Book on Hanafi Fiqh, Formulated Annotation of the Masterpiece of (Scholars) in the Hanafi Fiqh and others.

The Sheikh is a distinguished Qari, a wise judge, an eloquent khateeb, and a man well known for his humble character, and keenness in learning.

ألا إن نصر الله قريب - لاتحزن ان الله معنا

குர்ஆன் என்னும் பெயர் : 

வானவர் ஜிப்ரில் அலைஹிஸ்ஸலாம் அவர்கள் மூலம், நபியவர்களுக்கு வல்லவன் அருளிய இந்த நன்மறைக்கு எத்தனையோ பெயர்கள் இருந்த போதிலும், இந்த மாமறையிலே பல இடங்களிலும்  குறிப்பிடப்படும் “குர்ஆன்” என்ற பெயரே சிறப்பு பெயராக விளங்கி வருகிறது

“குர்ஆன்” என்ற அரபிச் சொல்லுக்கு “ஓதப்பட்டது”, “ஓதக்கூடியது”, ஓதவேண்டியது என்று பொருள்படும். அண்ணல் நபி அவர்களுக்கு ஜிப்ரில் அலைஹிஸ்ஸலாம் அவர்கள் மூலமாக “ஓதப்பட்ட” இவ்வேதம், மனித சமுதாயம் தன் மேன்மையைக் கருதி “ஓதவேண்டியது” என்ற பொருளையே தன் பெயராகக் கொண்டிருப்பதும், இவ்வேதமே இவ்வுலகில் அதிகமான மக்களால் “ஓதப்படுவதும்” சிந்தித்து நயக்கத்தக்கதாக இருக்கிறது.

திருக் குர்ஆனிலே திருக் குர்ஆனைக் குறிக்கும் பெயர்கள் பலவற்றைத் தனியே ஒரு பக்கத்தில் தந்துள்ளோம்.

அருளப்பெற்ற நாள் : 

நபிகள் பெருமானார் அவர்களுடைய நாற்பதாவது வயதிலே, ரமளான் மாதத்தின் பிந்திய இரவுகளில் ஓர் இரவன்று, மக்கமா நகருக்கு அருகிலுள்ள ஹிராக் குகையிலே தனித்திருந்து, இறைவனைச் சிந்தித்திருந்த நேரத்தில் தான் திருக் குர்ஆன் முதன் முதலாக அருளப் பெற்றது. அந்த இரவு தான் “லைலத்துல் கத்ர்” (கண்ணியமிக்க இரவு) என்று அறியப்படுகிறது.

மாண்புமிக்க அந்த இரவிலே முதன் முதலாக அருளப் பெறத்துவங்கிய இந்த வான்மறை, அந்தந்தக் காலத்தின் நிலைமைக்கும் அவசியத்திற்கும் தக்கவாறு, - பெருமானார் வாழ்ந்த பிந்திய 23-வருடங்களில்- கொஞ்சங் கொஞ்சமாக அருளப்பெற்று பூர்த்தி பெற்றது.

இவ்வாறு அந்த 23-ஆண்டுகளில் இறைவனால் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதே திருக் குர்ஆன்.


குர்ஆனின் அமைப்பு  : 

திருக்குர்ஆன் 3 வசனங்கள் முதல் 286 வசனங்கள் வரையிலுமுள்ள, சிறிய, பெரிய 114 அத்தியாயங்களாக அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

திருக் குர்ஆனில் உள்ள வசனங்களும், அத்தியாயங்களும் இப்பொழுதுள்ள வரிசைக்கிரமப்படி அருளப் பெறவில்லை.

கால நிலைமைக்கும், மக்களின் தேவைக்கும் அவசியமான அளவு சிறிது, சிறிதாக அத்தியாயங்களாகவும், வசனங்களாகவும், அருளப் பெற்று வந்தன. இவ்வாறு அருளப் பெற்று வரும் காலத்தில், நபி பெருமானார்களுக்கு, இறைவன் கற்பித்ததற்கிணங்க, இன்னின்ன வசனங்கள், இன்னின்ன அத்தியாயங்களை சேர்ந்தவையெனவும், அதிலும் குறிப்பிட்ட வசனம், குறிப்பிட்ட அத்தியாயத்தில் எத்தனையாவது வசனம் எனவும் அறிவித்து வந்தார்கள். அந்த ஒழுங்கு முறைப்படி அமைக்கப் பெற்றது தான், இக்காலத்தில் நம்மிடத்தில் இருக்கும் திருக் குர்ஆன்.

இந்த அமைப்பு முறைக்கு, “தௌகீஃபீ” (அறிவிப்புப்படி அமைக்கப் பெற்றது) என்றும், “தர்தீபே திலாவதி” (ஓதக்கூடிய வரிசை) என்றும், “தர்தீபே ரஸுலி” (ரஸுலுடைய வரிசை) என்றும் கூறப்பெறுகின்றது.

தவிர, திருக் குர்ஆனின் வசனங்களும், அத்தியாங்களும் அருளப் பெற்ற முறைக்குத் “தர்தீபே நுஜுலி” (அருளப் பெற்ற வரிசை) என்று கூறப்பெறுகின்றது.

This podcast does not aim to denigrate Islam or to spread a religion.  Simply put this is an effort to get people talking more openly about religion and focused on finding common ground and understanding.

Around the world the loudest voices that focus on Islam are usually on the far extremes of the topic.  Either speakers love or hate Islam.  This is a discussion rooted in facts; and by design those facts are relayed to the public in a form that most can understand.

This isn't a professor's lecture and it's not a hate filled tirade.  This is two people having a rational discussion about religion.
