On veut du solide ? Solidement parlant, l’idée est de vous proposer un magazine culturel avec une interprétation décalée des différents événements qui rythment notre agenda. On aime explorer le milieu des cultures urbaines et alternatives qui n’ont pas toujours beaucoup de visibilité ou de légitimité. On a envie de donner la parole à ceux qui organisent ces événements, qui soutiennent ces projets mais aussi au public, aux passants aux inconnus et aux connus… Tout ça pour recueillir leur ressenti et montrer que la culture c’est non seulement l’événement mais aussi ce qui se passe après et pendant, ce qu’il provoque en chacun.

Si intitola Cultore del passato, divinatore dell’avvenire. Un ritratto di Ferruccio Busoni questo ciclo, realizzato da Francesco Dilaghi nel 2016 per il 150esimo anniversario della nascita del compositore empolese, che trasmettiamo nuovamente del centenario della morte.

Ferruccio Busoni fu un musicista e un intellettuale di prima grandezza nel panorama pur ricchissimo della cultura europea a cavallo tra Otto e Novecento. Eppure la sua figura ha sempre affascinato e conquistato i musicisti e i musicologi più del grande pubblico dei concerti e dei dischi: infatti, a distanza ormai di un secolo dalla scomparsa, è ancor vero che sono poche le sue composizioni – con l’eccezione solo delle trascrizioni pianistiche da musiche di Bach – che sono riuscite a entrare stabilmente nel repertorio dei concerti. Non è fra queste, per esempio, la pur splendida Berceuse élégiaque per orchestra, e neanche il suo capolavoro teatrale della piena maturità, Doktor Faust.

Le ragioni di questa sorta di “disaffezione” da parte del pubblico sono da ricercare in gran parte nella complessità della sua figura e del suo linguaggio, impossibile da inserire in nessuna categoria e in nessun “ismo”: complessità che si manifesta e si spiega con i molti elementi contraddittori, a cominciare dalla sua stessa identità nazionale, divisa tra Italia e Germania. Contraddittoria è la sua spiccata originalità di linguaggio rispetto alla sua profonda e completa conoscenza e padronanza di tutto il mondo musicale del suo tempo; così come contraddittoria è la sua stessa identità di artista, divisa tra l’attività di sommo virtuoso di pianoforte, fecondo compositore per i più disparati generi e organici, e acutissimo indagatore delle più profonde ragioni dell’esperienza musicale fino all’indagine sullo stesso primario elemento del suono.  E anche il titolo scelto per questo ciclo vuole mettere in evidenza un ulteriore elemento di contraddizione, cioè una visione dell’arte musicale che ha da un lato profondissime radici e motivazioni nell’eredità del passato (e in termini del tutto privilegiati con la somma lezione di J.S. Bach), ma dall’altro riesce a spingersi con lucidità nei più audaci – o anche solo possibili e virtuali – sentieri della modernità.

Una figura dunque di artista e intellettuale a 360 gradi, che merita sempre (e ancor più oggi, dove ogni esperienza musicale sembra per forza doversi consumare obbligatoriamente in modo semplice, immediato e divertente) di essere indagato e interrogato. Un compositore del quale meritano di essere ascoltate le composizioni, ma che merita di essere anche scoperto nei suoi scritti, sempre profondi e illuminanti, che restano la miglior chiave di lettura per capire le vere ragioni della sua musica: una musica che può senza dubbio risultare per il pubblico non facile, e anzi spesso problematica, ma che si rivelerà sempre ricca di significati e di valori mai affidati alla “superficie”, all’evidenza di un primo e generico ascolto.

How Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” Ushered Female Pop Into the Future Among Taylor Swift’s indelible catalog of zeitgeist-capturing smash singles, none represents a more decisive pivot into ambitious pop dominance than her chart-shattering 2014 single “Shake It Off”. Musically a defiant upbeat departure from the melodramatic country-pop that launched her career, lyrically “Shake It Off” marked Swift’s watershed declaration of emancipation from public criticism through kinetic self-acceptance. Both composition and mantra-ready chorus resonated explosively, propelling Swift to ascend as the voice of her generation on the strength of outside-the-box artistic liberation. By 2014, Swift had already amassed critical accolades and multiplatinum sales over four albums spanning nearly a decade in the spotlight since age 16. But rather than capitalize on established success formulas, Swift took startling risks with “Shake It Off”, reinventing her musical persona without warning. Trading vulnerable breakup balladry for swaggering horns, marching drums and shamelessly dorky verses about bad dancing, Swift made an ecstatic bid for fearless artistic ownership. Her playfulness felt iconoclastic in a pop realm then still unaccustomed to transparency from female stars beyond tabloid drama exploitation. Yet beneath that cheerful rhythmic bounce, “Shake It Off” reveals deeper personal epiphanies reclaiming Swift’s joy after years of weathering emotionally taxing criticism in an unforgiving public eye. Her lyrics confront tormentors head-on while dismissing the damage bluntly through the repetition of the titular hook. She urges tuning out disparagement through self-celebration. Rather than censoring raw reactions to pain though, Swift leans into unease sassily, exposing societal gendered double standards. Cathartically she chooses to laugh at misplaced judgments on her worth or talent. With “Shake It Off”, Swift ultimately redefined commercial pop boundaries through lyrics marrying the struggle to triumph over the commonplace burden of other’s projections. The track established her poignant yet galvanizing brand of musical inspiration rooted in resilience. Both sonically upbeat and thematically awakening, “Shake It Off” signaled Swift’s flowering into the chief emotional translator of millennial female experiences. From those very first confrontational lyrics, “Shake It Off” announces itself as Swift’s line in the sand defending creative liberty by rebutting criticism directly. She calls out perpetual judgments from “the liars and dirty, dirty cheats of the world” for thinking they can still “take her down”. Then with newfound maturity, she exposes harsh scrutiny as more toxic to targets than sources, determining she can simply tune out unproductive detractors without engaging. Swift doubles down on owed autonomy in the second pre-chorus singling out “the fakers” who leverage malicious gossip and salacious headlines purely for entertainment. Having endured years as media rags’ favorite clickbait controversy magnet for daring to be a young woman navigating romance openly, she again opts out of reaction cycles that only benefit those stirring turmoil.
