  • Buck Off Podcast: Bill Landis joins the show to talk OSU’s recruiting and the state of the program
On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined by Jordan Williams and we are both joined by The Athletic’s Bill Landis to talk all things Ohio State.
To start the show, we take some time to learn about Bill and how he got his start on the Ohio State beat. This leads to a discussion about Ohio high school sports and Bill’s path to covering the Buckeyes.
After that, we get down to some business discussing Ohio State’s recruiting camps over the past two weeks and some of the major storylines out of there. We talk 8th graders getting recruited and how players at camps are being evaluated. We discuss the coaches at the camps as well and what we can learn by seeing how they are in that environment.
Then we throw Bill into the Buck Off fire with a conversation about Corey Dennis’ impact on the staff and in recruiting. After the Dennis conversation we talk about the offensive line and the expectations Justin Frye has on his shoulders. We talk about development, recruiting, and what the new coach is bringing to the table.
For the last part of the show, we get into Ohio State’s schedule and we discuss some of Bill’s upcoming work. This leads to some conversation about Rutgers football, Big Ten divisions, and if Penn State is truly Ohio State’s rival.
We close out the show with our final thoughts on other places we’d like to cover sports and some stories from the beat.

  • Play Like a Girl: Is Steph Curry the GOAT? And Why Is There So Much Drama in the College Football Offseason? (06/07/22)
On LGHL’s Play Like a Girl podcast, Meredith Hein welcomes in friends from around the LGHL, Ohio State, and sporting worlds to talk everything from Ohio State sports to advocacy for women in sports and all the happenings in between.
Welcome back to the show! This week on Play Like a Girl, Megan and Meredith dive into the chaos of the college football offseason since, for some reason, no one seems to be able to keep the drama at bay. Between NIL, the transfer portal and the seemingly out-of-nowhere feud between Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher, the offseason has been anything but restful.
But, there are actually in-season sports, and the pair couldn’t neglect a quick preview of the NBA Finals and a healthy debate over if Steph Curry has managed to surpass LeBron as the GOAT (it’s closer than we ever thought possible).

  • Buck Off Podcast: Ohio State Football Camps, SEC Arrogance, and Ohio State's NIL Budget
On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined by Jordan Williams to discuss the recruiting news out of Ohio State’s summer football camps.
To start the show, discuss the the first week of Ohio State’s busy June with their summer football camps underway. There is an 8th grade phenom, a local southern Ohio product getting an offer, and some more clarity on the quarterback position in the 2023 class.
After that, we get into the conversation coming out of the SEC meetings about an SEC-only playoff. This comes right before the June conference leadership meetings and when playoff expansion talk ramps up. We talk about the reality of this thinly veiled threat and how SEC arrogance could cost everybody a lot of money in the long run.
Once we get back from the break, we discuss Ryan Day and Gene Smith’s presentation about Ohio State’s NIL expectations to businesses and donors. We talk about the slippery slope of NIL and how the Buckeyes are doing their best to stay aggressive while maintaining order.
For the last part of the show I named my most important players on the defensive side of the ball going into Fall camp and Jordan decides if he agrees with my thoughts on the players chosen. This leads to a conversation about expectations from older players and the younger players at each position.
We close out the show with our NBA Finals predictions and paying our respect to some NFL legends who retired.

  • I-70 Football Show: Ranking Big Ten Coaches
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 podcast. On this show we talk all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will get you caught up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players that you should be paying attention to in the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
In the latest episode of the I-70 football show we decide to rank all 14 coaches from worst to best. It gets more interesting as Dante and Jordan have different criteria for their rankings. Jordan ranks coaches based on who he most would want to coach his team while Dante does a power ranking based on last year’s performance. To be expected Scott Frost is last on both list but you can expect many surprises. Listen to see where coaches like Mel Tucker, Tom Allen and Ryan Day end up on their list.
In a tangent the guys get into basketball as the NBA Finals nears. Is Jayson Tatum a top five player? Plus, what do the guys think of his Mamba mentality. Dante and Jordan end up ranking the top 15 players in the NBA plus some more basketball talk.
In their weekly pitstops Jordan touches on hypermasculinity and people claiming that men drinking fruity drinks such as margaritas and long islands isn't acceptable. Dante discusses the Lakers hiring of Darvin Ham as their new coach. Will his hire have influence or our the lakers doomed to miss the playoffs again?

  • Buck Off Podcast: 99 Days until Notre Dame, Schedule Breakdown, and Rapid Recruiting News
On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined by Jordan Williams to discuss the college football season being less than 100 days away and we get into the schedule for the Buckeyes.
To start the show, we get into the first match up for Ohio State against Notre Dame in Week one. We discuss Notre Dame as an opponent and what they will be bringing to Columbus in week one under new coach Marcus Freeman. The Irish and Buckeyes both have a rough histories in these types of match ups, so something has got to give.
After that, we get into the rest of the schedule discuss the importance of each game for Ohio State this year. We discuss every game from Arkansas State to Michigan. We talk about the potential challenges and gains from each match up for the Buckeyes.
Once we get back from the break, we get into my most important players in on the offensive side of the ball heading into fall camp. This leads to a discussion about almost every player on the offensive side of the ball. For the Buckeyes the question isn’t about talent, but how well the talent develops.
We close out the show with some rapid fire recruiting news and we also talk about how hard it is to evaluate quarterbacks in recruiting.

  • Buck Off Podcast: Jimbo vs. Saban, June recruiting is coming, and contract extensions
On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined by Jordan Williams to discuss the incredibly explosive drama coming from the Southeastern conference as well as the recent news surrounding the Buckeyes.
To start the show, we discuss the beef between Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher and Alabama’s Nick Saban in regards to the Aggies’ recruiting practices. We dissect Saban’s initial comments and why this was so shocking to see in the news cycle. This also leads to a discussion about the current state of recruiting and how college football has always lived in the gray area –- and I do my best Jimbo Fisher impression.
After that, we discuss Jordan Addison’s decision to transfer to USC as well as my article about why Ohio State should always be looking to add talent like Addison in the offseason. We get into why Ohio State might be looking for a similar level player in the future at another position and why getting a player like Addison is more of a guarantee than anything on the roster.
We also discuss the exciting recruiting month ahead including two potential VIP visitors who the Buckeyes hope to see. This leads to us discussing the importance of visits and the importance of getting the player into the room as a coach.
We close out the show with a discussion about the new coaching contracts at Ohio State and the final decision on conference divisions in college football.

  • Stick to Sports: The One Where We Don't Talk About Sports and Instead Discuss the Tony Nominations (05/17/22)
Land-Grant Holy Land’s Stick to Sports is unlike any podcast you’ve heard on the Ohio State beat. Your hosts, Matt Tamanini and Jami Jurich, will (of course) talk Ohio State sports, but the primary focus of the show will be on what’s going on around the periphery, such as weird/funny happenings in college football and the sports world at large, as well as other things that keep us interested in between games, whether that’s pop culture, social media trends— you name it.
On an episode that will likely appeal to literally zero people, Matt and Jami break down last week's 2022 Tony nominations. Hear these two Ohio State alums and Broadway insiders discuss what they think of the major categories. The awards will be presented on CBS on Sunday, June 12 at 8 p.m. ET.
