  • Reasons to Travel More

Whenever you mention traveling, most people begin to think of a vacation or a weekend getaway. Many people rarely take advantage of the opportunity to travel. I think everyone knows at least one person who frowns at the thought of even leaving the city they reside in or call home. On the other hand, just imagine how many people use their vacation days for doctor’s appointments, home repairs or just to do other things around the house.

Traveling can make a significant difference in your life in so many ways. I was born in Georgia and lived there for most of my life. Yet, it wasn’t until I turned 38 years old that I realized Georgia has its own version of the Grand Canyon. Traveling exposes us to so much more in the form of education as well as personal and professional growth.

So if you need a little help convincing yourself or others why traveling is a worthy pursuit, in this episode there are some reasons why it’s important.

  • Dates Who Pays the Man or the Woman

Welcome to the Simply Straight Talk Podcast with your host Reggie Maddox. Today's show is going to discuss one of the most discussed questions in modern dating "Who pays the man or the woman"?

At the beginning of relationships,  men and women tend to follow traditional roles. For example, if a man asked a woman out on a date or to hangout, it was clear that he was paying for the evening. That's it plain and simple but something has changed over the years. Men and women are beginning to question this practice in modern day relationships. There are a variety of reasons why men and women are unable to agree on this topic. Some men feel that women are simply using them to take advantage of a free meal and they are being mislead with false intentions. Some women feel that men only want to take them out in an order to get sex at the end of the night.

On the other hand, is it possible that both sides are missing out on one key component regarding the entire dating process. Well, Reggie does and he is going to discuss in this episode.

  • How to Stay Motivated

Welcome to the Simply Straight Talk Podcast! Today, Reggie is going to talk to you about maintaining your motivation from a realistic view and not fantasy.

Honestly motivation can be tough under the best of circumstances. Motivation is an important part of your everyday life that should not be ignored. But how can you stay motivated when your list of things to keeps getting longer, you have just been passed over for another job or promotion, your finances are not improving, your exhausted from giving so much of yourself to your relationship, children and at the same time dealing with gossiping people and co-workers?

We have all heard or have been told about motivational techniques that are more commonly scene in movies. For example, write a check to yourself, place notes on your mirror or your refrigerator, or the most common motivational speech "I have been where you are hang in there it will work out".

Motivation is not some sort of magic spell or some pill you can take that can boost your mind into a new realm of motivational power. It does not come in a bottle.  But it's something you can tap into and utilize as a tool to drive you towards finishing your goals.

  • Lover Story of What If

Welcome to the Simply Straight Talk Podcast with your host Reggie Maddox. Today’s show is about relationships and that questions that haunts so many of us, What if?

Have you ever looked back on your life and reflected on the relationships from your past? Specifically, the love and lost track record and just realized it’s a hot mess? Well don’t be ashamed, we are a part of the same club.

Perhaps you’re in a situation right now that just doesn’t make sense. You don’t know how you got here and you’re not sure how to maneuver you way out. Maybe there is someone from your past that you can’t seem to let go. In some cases, a person can have such a positive effect on your life that you wonder what if you said this or things would happen another way.

What can I say, welcome to the world of love. We all have expectations or ideas of how love is supposed to operate and make sense in our lives. Honestly, the feeling of love can be such a powerful thing that we become addicted to the possibilities it can bring. Many people feel that a perfect relationship should just fall together at the right time. But in reality, two compatible people are very likely to find each other at the wrong time.

On the other hand, two people can find each other at the wrong time. Not to mention, people might be wrong for each other, but find each other at the right time.

You see love doesn’t always make sense, but it does make us ask the question “What if”?

  • Does Size Really Matter

Welcome to the Simply Straight Talk Show. Today Reggie is discussing the mindset of people having an expensive wedding with a fancy ring.

Throughout the year numerous couples embark on the love train of marriage. Starting off with  engagement  plans to move towards a ceremonious gathering to celebrate their union. Couples can spend from a few thousand dollars upwards to over a hundred thousand dollars. Consider this Wayne Rooney & Coleen McLoughlin spent $8 million on their wedding, while Prince Charles & Diana spent $110 million.

So why do people spend so much on weddings and rings? Some would say women see this day as a reflection of  her mates love, confirmation for others and a day of celebration. On the other hand, men see the ring as a confession of their love, but the ceremony is more of showcase for the bride.

Additionally we must ask ourselves is the excessive cost of weddings/engagement rings going to have a positive or negative impact on the success or failure of the relationship. This does not come up in most conversations as many couples are primarily focused on the planning, while avoiding the impact of the cost.

So let's take a look at this topic and discuss it! Don't forget to like share and comment.
