Really enjoying this series

Gina is tough to put in words...she has a classy, tough, nothing can hurt me exterior that covers up a lot of hurt and insecurities on the inside, especially after the one night she spent with Carter. After a disastrous marriage, Carter toughened up and became a playboy but never forgot about Gina. One night ten years early started the two on a path of love...when they reunite will they be able to open themselves enough to continue down the path toward love? This was a sweet story. Gina has been so tough throughout the series. It was really nice to see why she felt she needed to be so tough. I couldn't wait to read about Carter and he didn't disappoint. Heidi Rice did a great job bringing the complexities of these two characters to life and make them likeable. I really enjoyed their interactions. I look forward to reading this one again and can't wait to read Marnie's story. The ending of this story was as great as the ending of the last one in the series.

Recommended read

Always the sexy fun one of the group, Gina must now step up and face her past mistakes. Carter is back in town and he is no longer the confused young man from her past! Great read. Recommended!

Lost loved found!

I absolutely fell in love with both Gina and Carter! These two sizzle from the first moment they meet. A fun book to read when two forces are pulled together.

One night stand

Gina had slept with Carter 10 years ago,but he was engaged.She went home and found out she was pregnant. She lost the baby and was very sad. Marnle is her best friend and Carter's sister, they had never talked until now. She apologizes to Marnie and plans to apologize to Carter but he has other plans can that one night 10 years ago be more than just a one night stand. A very good book.

light reading

Very light reading, the story could have been filled out and been more "meaty" but, as it is, it is a quick and easy bit of fluff. Disappointing in that the story ends just as the reader (me) starts to get into it.

Nice..but

So, this was a good story. Both Brent and Missy were likable and there was plenty of sexual tension without too much sex, mostly fade-to-black. Which was good for me. I don't care as much for the sex as I do all the thoughts and feelings leading up to it. I just hate gratuitous sex, sex for the sake of sex. Anyway, I'd definitely read more from this author.

That being said, I think something went wrong in the reading and the writing of this book. There was pages and pages where the words being read were not syncing with the book or sentences and paragraphs were added to the book after the narration was done.

It was just crazy. But, if you waited the words and pages would catch up with each other.

AND there was a time when they were talking about another woman and the book said her name was Amanda but the narrator called her Catherine. I'm sure it was not the narrators fault. I don't think rewriting a book is a good idea when it's already been narrated. To me it wasn't so bad but to others' it'll be earth-shattering. LOL..

As to the narrator: She did a fine job. No emotion to speak of but the men all sounded like men and that's important. Nothing worse that a man and woman making love and having it sound like two women.

Nice hot ride

This is a simple straight forward hot little romance set in the west. There is an instant attraction and there are no major struggles or any angst. It's nice to read ones like this that is just a hot sexy story. This is part of a series and I have almost all of them so I do feel invested I these characters. Other stories in the series have more substance but this one has the most heat.

Excellent

This is an excellent story. The way it explains the understanding of depression and emotions is so good and it actually helped me understand myself as well. I don't know how to put it into words properly but this is my favorite book. l listened to it over and over

Loved it! Well written and performed.

It was so refreshingly original to have a person suffering depression as the hero - not just a moping extra as per many other stories by different authors.

I really enjoyed this book, no cringe worthy moments like I often read by other authors. It was well written.

A great voice performance too, the reader has a pleasant voice which definitely didn't distract me from immersing myself into the book.

I loved listening to this book. I had the excitement building all the way but I feel that the end was a bit disappointing. i wanted something more romantic :)

I like this author and have read a lot of her books. This book keeps you looking for the "who done it" and has a surprise ending.

Loved it. Also the first 3 books leading up to book 4 are terrific. Lots of suspense with some love thrown in to make it a wonderful story.

Been waiting and wasnt disappointed

The story was suspenseful and kind of funny. You would think Mary would have a little more sense at some point in the story, but how else would we have our drama.

Don't overlook anyone when looking for a killer.

I enjoyed this final book of 4. All of them were very good and kept your attention and wondered what was going to happen. Never would have guessed the ending.

All the books in the 'Cowboy Cafe' are great, just make sure that you read them in order.(See list below) They read a lot alike but each book has a slightly different twist. The first book sets up the over all mystery to run through all 4 books, but each individual book also has its own mystery to be solved as well.

i love Cowboy romance books as i am a cowgirl and Carla Cassidy did a great job. i will be read more of her books.

One Night Standoff

The narrator did a wonderful job.

There were too many gun fights and not enough intrigue.

The bad guys kept showing up uninvited, insisting they had vital information and insisting on face to face meetings.

For a ranch with security and so many lawmen, it was breached very quickly and easily.

The Harlequin Intrigue books would be better without ridiculous sex scenes. They always make me roll my eyes. Readers have imaginations, and if the writers chose to omit the sex, we could fill in the blanks ourselves.

More Intrigue is needed.

One of my new favorite series!

I don't know what I usually associated Shelley Shepard Gray with mystery books but for some reason, I did. Now that I know that she's not really that type of writer, I think I need to get more of her books. I liked this one so much that I have already downloaded the first book in this series, Daybreak.

As for mystery, it does have a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of secrets that surround the Keim family. I enjoyed finding them out as the story went along. I liked how she recapped on the secrets revealed in the first book, without letting you know too much detail that you wouldn't need to read the first book.

I was hoping Amanda and Roman would find each other as someone that they could start a life with. I was glad that Amanda stopped living in the past, even though she never forgot about it. Elsie is one that I hope gets a book devoted to in the future. I want her to end up happy and with someone so special. I'm not certain I wish for her circumstances to change, but to see her work through it. I'm guessing the first book has of Peter and Marie's story, so I'm anxious to get more details on that. Lovina had me laughing in a light-hearted way. She seemed wise from her mistakes, but also seemed to be supportive. She was one of my favorite characters in the book, I think. I hated the moment when she and Aaron shared a moment that was about his relationships in his life before her. Lovina seemed to be so loving and caring and trying hard to be the perfect Amish wife. What he said to her wasn't unloving, but it was something that made my heart hurt for any woman to realize about their relationship.

I am very excited to read the first book and the next book in this series. Eventide, the third book in the Days of Redemption series, is set to be out in September. I can't wait!

Well written but completely done to death

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The story while written well was one that we've all heard 10,000 times. This story brings absolutely nothing new to the table. Nothing in this book jumped out and you and made you go OH MY GOD! At the end of the book you were left feeling, eh okay. I guess they were nice enough people but you didn't really care either way.

Was Plus One worth the listening time?

It was an okay book. It really didn't have any flaws in terms of writing. The only real problem was just that it was boring and the same old tired story rehashed again and again with absolutely nothing new ... no twists or unexpected turns.

Great Great Great!

Best Friends becoming lovers! Soooo good. Well this was like best friends brother and best friend becoming lovers technically. I loved this. No much of a great plot...but a typical love story. I loved the hotel scene when they finally do it. SOoo cute and romantic.

I thought the book was okay. The author did a good job of filling in the background details for those of us who may have missed the first two books.

Both of the main characters are learning how to start over and they struggle with the differing perspectives they have about life. I think the characters are genuine and exhibit emotions that many of us would feel if faced with similar circumstances.

The mystery/suspense part of the book was interesting and kept me guessing for most of the story. One mystery gets resolved but at the end a killer is still on the lose in Grady Gulch. I am curious to find out who is killing the waitresses of Cowboy Cafe so I plan to read the final book in the Cowboy Cafe Series: Confessing to the Cowboy.

Adam and Melanie

For me, this book started out okay. Melanie had returned home to care for her dying mother, and ended up staying when peripheral neuropathy put her in a wheelchair, nixing plans to go back to NYC and her career as a dancer. To pay back taxes on her home, she takes in a boarder, Adam, a local rancher who has decided to give his brother more space and privacy at the ranchhouse for his new family. As the story progresses, with Adam's support and encouragement, Melanie begins to come out of her withdrawal and to become more independent. At the same time a stalker tries to convince her she is losing her mind. Two women in the small town have been murdered in the last few months, and it looks like the murderer has Melanie in his sights. This is a okay one time read, but won't be going on my reread list.

You really would have to give this book five stars--- this was an amazing story by Carla Cassidy!!! The whole series has been great & I am looking forward to more from Carla Cassidy---this book was filled with intrigue & romance -----highly recommended to everyone!!!

Can You Say Self-Pity

I guess I shouldn't have expected too much. It was free. I found Cowboy with a Cause to be nothing more than 280 pages of a whiney woman so full of self-pity that I was cheering for the villain. Melanie was the perfect prima donna. Get over yourself already. Adam didn't help matters. Yes we got it. He loved Melanie. He wanted to be with her. The whining of both of them repeated over and over.

However predictable the ending was, it stopped so abruptly that I thought perhaps the entire book wasn't downloaded. Really I had to suffer through the whining and self-pity, the least Ms.

I have not enjoyed it and finally put it down

UGH. I have tried to work through this book. Maybe it's just me and my taste but, wow, I have not enjoyed it and finally put it down. The beginning was awesome and I thought it draws you in and gets you excited but then it peters off and takes forever for anything to happen. Is this poor military husband waking up or what? let's get a move on here. bored :(

The first book I read in 2013 and loved it-

This book is a heart string puller. Get ready to fall in love with two characters that deserve love, deserve each other and would love to be together if...maybe the circumstances weren't so heart wrenching. I loved Margaret, her steadfastness, her courage and her devotion to her husband. I admired her choices and think she made the right ones...I don't want to say so much because if you love a beautiful love story with superb storytelling, Joseph Monninger unravels a novel with tenderness and ease that flows through the beauty of the language of this novel.

I also loved Eternal on the Water, and THE LETTERS, in which he co-wrote with Luanne Rice. Looking forward to his new book coming out in 2014.

Most romantic read in a long time

I started reading this beautiful story Christmas evening, next thing I knew it was over. I don't want Margaret's story to end. I don't want Gordon's story to end. This was the most beautifully woven story the best I have read in a long time.

A romance novel minus the romance

The premise of the story line was interesting, but it was very unbelievable. The characters really weren't developed. It seems all the author was interested in getting across was how perfect these two people were and how tragic it was that they couldn't be together since they were so obviously in love due to their perfect sexual encounters. Pardon the sarcasm, but it was all a bit nauseating. Then it all wrapped up equally as unbelievably perfect for them both.
