Strong woman overcomes misfortune and tragedy

This book tackles some tough material, heed the authors warning if you're sensitive to BDSM and (unwilling) servitude. I'll avoid spoilers, but this book causes you to think about some pretty difficult predicaments all while developing an untraditional love story. I found myself mentally yelling at several characters throughout, I was definitely pulled into the story.

Not bad but not my favorite

I have never met Maisey Yates. I did not know what to expect. I got one of her books in a subscription box. The story was promising and intriguing but I wasnât fond of our hero or heroine. I found myself thinking that Prince Andres was a pompous, playboy ass. There were moments I liked him but most of the time I just thought he wasnât suited for Zara.

Zara on a the other hand just wasnât believable to me. She had innocence which I understood from her upbringing but if she was so used to people and their evil ways, why was she so nave?

What I really enjoyed about this book was the layout of the story. I think that if the characters had been tweaked a little more that this story would have taken off for me.

Iâm a huge Maisey Yates fan. I adore her gift of characterization and her talent for storytelling, mostly because I love the raw intensity of her characters and the emotional depth that comes with her stories. Not only do her story people always seem so hauntingly real, but they always, always pull me in and make me fall in love on a whole different level. Each and every time. That is once more the case with A Christmas Vow of Seduction.

In A Christmas Vow of Seduction, Prince Andres has been ordered by his Kingâthe brother to which he owes a debtâto marry Princess Zara, a woman who has spent her life hiding from those who destroyed her family and now seek to use her as a bargaining chip in dealings with the King of Petras. But the Princess is uninterested in marriage to Prince Andres and thanks to her exile of safety, sheâs now unaccustomed to the royal way of life and must learn how to do things all over again. This sets up a pretty excellent dynamic between two equally passionate people.

Princess Zara has been given a s*** lot in life and now sheâs being forced to marry a man she barely knows to survive. Sheâs angry about that, and rightly so. But her anger makes her a force to be reckoned with in regards to her interactions with the hero, who doesnât quite know what to do with or make of her at first.

I really loved this story. Thatâs not always the case with marriage of convenience stories, but Maisey Yates has the gift of taking a classic romance trope and making it seem fresh and new, and always with an unbelievably memorable and unique hero and heroine. She always manages to draw me in and keep me entertained with her tales of broken men and the women who learn how to heal them.

Can friendship turn into love.

I loved this book "The Earl's Pregnant Bride" by Christine Rimmer. It is a love story between Princess Genevra Bravo-Calabretti and the Earl of Hartmore, Rafe. Genny has always known she would be a part of the DeValery family. She was engaged to Edward, Rafe's brother, before he died in a car accident. During an evening of consoling each other Genny and Rafe make love,and now she is pregnant with his child. Genny is climbing the wall to get out of the palace to confront Rafe about the baby, They decided that they cared enough about each other to get married.

There are other people who live with Rafe at the mansion, and life isn't as easy or uncomplicated as they thought. Many people try to come between them but is their relationship strong enough to hold together? Will they finally figure out that the caring has turned into love? You will enjoy this continuation of the series 'Bravo Royales.'

Another Great Bravo Heroine!!

Oh no, Genny, Princess Genevra Bravo-Calabretti of Montedoro, is pregnant by Earl of Hartmore, Rafael DeValery. Genny and Rafe have been life-long friends and after finding comfort in each other after the death of his older brother who was to marry Genny. Now after chasing down Rafe they get married in a hurry.

Genny now is the mistress of Hartmore which is what she has wanted all along since she was 5 years old. I so enjoyed their romance after their marriage. They have trouble telling each other how they feel but they do have their own HEA!

Great addition to the Barvo Calabretti family stories. Genny is such a great heroine and Rafe is the wonderful heo. If you haven't read Ms Rimmer's Bravo you need to. They are a great large family!

Excellent Read!!!

This was an awesome story and one I loved from beginning to end!! What can I say other then Tawny Weber has done it again with this great SEAL series!!! This is Dominic and Lara story and it is one hot, steamy story but one that will keep you going from the first page until the very last page. I read this one straight through until I was done, that's how great it was. I can't wait to read Phillips story, his is going to be great. Lara and Dominic are perfect for each other because they are both strong and willing to fight for what they believe in. You will this book as much as I did.

A great read!

The story of Dominic and Lara is a great one. Thrown together as a mission, at first and the mission turns into so much more! I love Tawny's writing style! I recommend this book for anyone looking for a great romance! It has it all. Tawny did not disappoint with this story line! She had me rooting for Dominic from the beginning! A loyal Seal who considers the other Seals as brothers. Lara's brother is a rival and they are thrown together for Dominic to protect her. At first it is just another mission. Of course the two start to have feelings for each other. Will their relationship become more , a must read! I can not wait till the next Seal book to be released!

Total fantasy

Dominic and Lara met under unusual circumstances . She was a dancer living life on her own. Dominic was a Navy Seal sent to protect her once her brother (whom she was estranged) was being held captive . Lara.didn't want his help but she showed her she needed it when some guys showed up at her apt. They were on the move and also very attracted to each other. They finally got together and it was hot. Dominic was never a one woman guy but Lara rocked his world. Once this assignment was over could he let her go? Both were attracted to each other but to stubborn to let their guards some totally. You have to read to find out it was great.

A Seal's Fantasy

This is like book five in this series, the other four I got in a box set and now have to wait until November 1 for the next one. Will that's not to long sure hope I remember why I wanted this book and what it goes with. Enough bitching doesn't get the book here any faster. LOL. But it's another cute hot man and strong women story. For a navy seal book you would like just a little more action, we get all the emotional stuff and how hard it's for some to commit. So enjoy the read!

A Steamy Romance for the Holidays

Would you consider the audio edition of The Assistant's Christmas Wish to be better than the print version?

Who was your favorite character and why?

That's a toughie. They all had different qualities to them. I could relate a bit to Leena. Nick was yummy. Jake... hmmm... I'm going to pick Jake. He's a honey with a lot of geeky cuteness to him. I can't say no to that.

Which scene was your favorite?

Hmmmm... Leena and Jake decorating the Christmas tree, the whole chapter.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I think I yelled out "Pick one!" a few times. I may have cooed once or twice too. And I know I blushed.

A Christmas wish

I'm not normally a romance book kinda person but this book was really good. The story line was not what I was expecting at all. It took me by surprise with some of the decisions the characters made. But in the end love wins. A very good read you go in expecting one thing, and it comes out a whole different way.

No suspense, no thinking... no wonder....boring

There was no suspense. The only question you had was how they told everything to everybody and it never got back to either of them. Very low class and tacky. Couldn't read or listen to entire story.

Nothing good to say...

I had hoped this would be a sweet, Sunday afternoon read, unfortunately, it was actually grating and annoying. First, the narrator's voice is like nails on a chalkboard! Her inflections for the female lead's voice sounded like she was doing baby talk in a bad porn flick. Her interpretation of the male leads was non-existent. Usually, I can get passed a bad narration if the storyline and characters are good. Sadly, this book had no redeeming qualities to save it. The lack of development of characters and the vapid dialogue was only the beginning. The male leads are brothers, and they have no respect or loyalty to each other. They care only about wanting the heroine for themselves. The heroine is an idiot.

I read this book a while ago but a want to try the audio book and I didn't like the narrator I really love this book when I read it but with the narrator not so much maybe another one I really recommend Kristy books they are amazing I hope the rest if they do it in audio book they use a different narrator

The plot is okay but nothing special. It was difficult to connect to any of the characters and it is not very well written. The narration is the worst I have heard. I could only bear it for a couple of sentences. Read the rest on my kindle.

How this story lasted more than 5 chapters is beyond comprehension. The twist is obvious from the start & the characters are flat.

A closet encounter

This short story was provided for free as a bonus when joining an author's e-mail listing. I read it expecting an ok short read by an as yet unfamiliar author. My only disappointment came that it ended too soon. I was drawn into the story finding the characters likeable and totally relatable.

As her sister persuades her to attend a New Years Eve party, Pam reluctantly agrees. Once there she quickly realizes she is just not ready to reenter the social scene. At the first sign of a match making attempt by her sister and hoping to avoid said intro, she ducks into a closet. Startled to find she is not alone and under the security of cover of darkness, Pam commiserates with her closet companion on the heartbreaking issues of their respective failed marriage. What comes next is something neither expected.

A fully developed story with characters I could totally relate to, exhibits Ms Girard's talents at their best. Nicely done!
