We had alot of fun with this one you guys. In the last of our "Spooky Time" episodes, we're covering one of the most iconic genres of horror films: haunted houses. We went a bit nontraditional with our first movie and covered the Tim Burton classic Beetlejuice, beetlejuice, just-kidding-no-way but it's still a great movie. Then we jump to one of those classic 80s horror movies that has really stood the test of time, Poltergeist. Need I say more? They're here!!!

To us, there's nothing scarier than humans, so why not cover movies about the murderous ones? This episode we cover Monster, based on possibly the most infamous female serial killer, Aileen Wuornos. Then, we move to the David Fincher epic, Zodiac, featuring one of the most disturbing murder scenes Lindsay has ever watched. Enjoy for spooky time!

We've made our love for Jordan Peele's directing well known throughout the history of this podcast, so we thought it was time to finally dedicate an episode to discussing his two iconic movies. First is his directorial debut Get Out which garnered several Oscar noms and won him Best Original Screenplay, almost unheard of for Horror films. Then we jump to Us and discuss his unique talent for creating cerebral horror. Also, Lupita Nyong'o is *italian chef kiss*.

Happy Spooky Time month, aka Halloween! This is our favorite time of the year on the podcast and we're kicking it off with a pretty well known thriller/horror genre: stalkers. First up is the, shall we say, cheesy teen stalker-thriller Swimfan.  Then we jump to the Scorsese master thriller Cape Fear, with a cast so stacked we could have spent a whole episode just on this movie. This week we're discussing the marketing side of movie making through the rare cinematic feat of a hoax movie. First we talk about one of the most significant modern horror movies, The Blair Witch Project, and how they managed to turn a low-budget doc into a viral movie. Then we jump to the odd piece of performance art known as I'm Still Here. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, well done.

The common mythical creature that is the eccentric teacher is a common archetype in movies, and we're here for it. In this episode we picked two wildly different movies that we discovered have alot in common. First we jump into the Jack Black feature, and one of Mollie's favorites, School of Rock. Then we just to the seemingly more prestigious and iconic film, Dead Poets Society. We came, we learned, but mostly we rocked. And read poems I guess.

There's few tropes as prominent in the horror genre as a cabin vacation with friends gone wrong. But what's extra special about these movies is how they take this played our story line and flip in on it's head in unique ways. Cabin in the Woods is a one-of-a-kind government conspiracy meets creepy cabin horror wrapped in a humor blanket. Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is the funniest misunderstanding you could ever hope for in a horror movie (plus an adorable story of friendship). Mollie recommends at least one of these, Lindsay recommends both. You can be the tie breaker. 

Beauty Queens are a very special breed and the cinematic versions even more so. It's an enigma we're happy to unwrap. We start with possibly the most iconic beauty pageant movie Miss Congeniality starring the queen, Sandra Bullock. Plus, we finally get to talk about Michael Caine! Then we move to the indie darling Drop Dead Gorgeous starring the iconic Kirsten Dunst along with an unbelievable supporting cast including the like of Amy Adams, Brittany Murphy and Allison Janney to name a few. Bless our queens.

We're doing musicals, finally! We cover one of our favorite teen-bopping musicals Grease and discuss how much we actually don't like Danny Zuko. Then we jump to the passionate classic West Side Story and how relevant the story of immigrant clashes still is. But also, how amazing Natalie Wood and Rita Morena are, obviously. Do Re Me Fa So La Ti Do.

In the Sister Cinema tradition, we celebrate a certain hosts birthday with her favorite movie of all time; The Breakfast Club. We dig into the best John Hughes movie around (fight us) and enjoy the surprisingly deep messages it conveys, considering it's a movie basically about nothing. Happy Birthday Mollie!
