On June 7, 2021, Alex Murdaugh called the police. “My wife and son have been shot badly. Please hurry”, he pleaded in his deep, Southern drawl. Within two years, Alex would be found guilty of murdering his 22 year old son and his wife of 28 years in cold blood. This week, Emily wraps up her coverage of the Murdaugh family by taking us through the trial of Alex Murdaugh. Discussion includes Bubba the dog, Caprisins, and how to act on a 911 call.

Within two years, Alex would be found guilty of murdering his 22 year old son and his wife of 28 years in cold blood. But why? To begin to understand the motives and manipulation of Alex Murdaugh, you have to start at the beginning. This week, Emily walks us through the three murders connected to this notorious family: Stephen Smith, Gloria Satterfield, and Mallory Beach. Sarah has some choice words for our guy Alex, and we set the stage for covering the murders of Paul and Maggie Murdaugh in next week's episode (so be sure to tune in!)

We are re-releasing Episode 017 this week on Natalee Holloway, in light of the breaking news in the case this week. Joran Van Der Sloot admitted to murdering Natalee in Aruba after she rejected his sexual advances and disposing of her body in the ocean. We are sending all our love to Natalee's family and loved ones this week as this nearly 20 year old case comes to a close. Note: this episode was recorded in April 2023, 6 months prior to Joran's confession.

This week, Emily takes us through the timeline of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, an 18 year old American who vanished while visiting Aruba for a school trip. Like usual, Emily mispronounces literally everyone's name and Sarah takes a controversial side. Digressions include our brother's Beach Week experience, burritos, and whether or not we'd marry a guy named Van Der Sloot.

Kouri Richins knows all about grief. She literally wrote the book on it after her husband unexpectedly died. But this week, Sarah takes us behind the scenes of this grieving widow and, you guys, not everything is what it seems! This is one of those eps where we wish we published video, because Emily's brow was furrowed basically the whole time. You have to hear it to believe it, folks! This one is bananas.

The Rillington Place Strangler – ever heard of him? Probably not, because this week we are headed across the pond to the UK and talking about a leading case in the debate to abolish the death penalty in the UK.
