On the Sky Blues Fancast this week the team try hard to avoid talking about the football after Huddersfield equalised in the dying moments of the game at the CBS Arena for it to end 1-1 on a Monday night under the lights. Even a run through of Anthony’s recent triumph on the golf course, where he got a hole in one, wasn't enough to lift their spirits!

They look back at the 1-1 draw away in Wales after Matty Godden had put Mark Robin’s team ahead only for them to concede an equaliser.
Viktor Gyokeres had already gone and now Gus Hamer has gone too. So, it’s the Wright time for a new crop of Coventry City players to entertain the crowds at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The opening home game of the Championship Season saw Mark Robins’ men take on Middlesborough – again!

The Sky Blue Army travelled in their thousands (under ‘Welcome banners’) along the M69 to face Leicester City for their opening game of the new Championship Season.
Coventry City hadn’t won away to their Midlands rivals since 2001 and the last time these two teams faced each other in the league was 2012. The anticipation of the return of this fixture was high amongst the travelling fans.
On this episode (recorded Haji Wright style, in a bush!) Lorna Bailey is joined from the Fancast team by Anthony to look back on the match and the return to football.

For a while it had looked like last season's beaten Championship play-off finalists were on course for a deserved three points when they led through Kyle 's 47th-minute opener from a near-post corner but that was before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall struck two late goals and the relegated Foxes began their life back in the Championship with a win.
Lorna and Anthony discuss what could have been with the missed chances as well as the performance of the new players including Bobby Thomas and new record signing Haji Wright.

Lorna Bailey took two of the Sky Blues Fancast team and did just that… Ryan and Anthony headed to the CBS Arena to watch Coventry City vs Stoke City. Before the match they met Martin Winch, Clive Eakin and Steve Ogrizovic from BBC CWR’s commentary team to get some advice and have a look at Oggy’s stats book. They were given top tips, like do not swear (Ryan we are looking at you!) and how to pace the commentary against the pace of the game.
How did they get on? In this special episode you’ll find out that it really isn’t as easy as it sounds and that it’s really not easy when they lose!
The fixture list is out for the 2023/2024 season and it will all start with the M69 derby on August 6th at midday at the King Power Stadium.
Lorna Bailey from the Sky Blues Fancast hopped on a quick call to catch up with Ryan and Lennon to get their reaction to the way the season looks. Everyone is looking forward to the derby game and what’s in store.
Of course the team look at the Christmas fixture and some of the away matches that catch their eye as well as that Carabao Cup tie away at AFC Wimbledon as the next match up after Leicester and before the first home game of the season against Middlesborough on the fresh new pitch at the CBS arena.
