  • S3 EP30: April Fools!

Coventry City's nine-game unbeaten run is over. The April fool's day fixture against Stoke City at the CBS came with a large helping of 'reality check' on Legends Day in front of the biggest home crowd of the season. #PUSB

A crushing 4-0 defeat for Mark Robins' team after the international break means that Coventry City are now four points behind the top six.

With Lorna Bailey on this week's episode of the Sky Blues Fancast is Anthony, the club's 'Her Game Too' representative Laura Hartley, Dan and Sam.

Here on the Fancast in recent weeks there has been a lot of talk about 'momentum' and 'daring to dream', but the fans' hopes of making the Championship play-offs for the first time since being relegated from the Premier League 22 years ago have been given a bit of a dent as Coventry City lost for the first time since 3rd February - in what was the biggest home loss in two and a half years.

The Fancast looks at the performance - well - they try to look at the performance but it's a tricky challenge for them this week! They do manage a few words for Stoke's fans though!

You can hear from the manager, Mark Robins, who has changed the way he talks about his players - he can't even call them defenders or strikers any more!

The team chat about the substitutions and their impact. You'll also hear from defender Kyle McFadzean - how does he sum up the match?

Also - the division among fans over the half-time booing and the large number of fans who left early. There's also time to talk about season tickets and pricing as well as the Coventry Building Society Arena itself and the potential deal.

Plus, there's a little taster of what's to come on a future episode of the Sky Blues Fancast. If you've ever thought you could be a commentator then you'll want to listen to this!

And, as Anthony suggests, can the team 'resurrect' their play-off hopes over Easter weekend? (We see what you did there, Anthony!) So there's also a look ahead to the games away at Swansea and at home to Watford.

  • S3 E29: The Hummel Kit Man

What do you get if you take Coventry City FC, Hummel and football kits? Most of the Sky Blue Army agree - just about perfection. They also hit our wallets hard as they're all so good that we end up buying far too many! The Coventry Cathedral-inspired kits this season have been super popular with the Sky Blue Army.

On this special episode of the Sky Blues Fancast Lorna Bailey gets fans Joe, Katie and Rob together to chat about the kits over recent seasons. And because it's a special episode it needs a special guest, so meet the creative designer of Hummel, Rob Revell. He talks about where the inspiration for the kits come from, how closely he works with the club, and what next season's kit may or may not look like.

Also on this episode you'll hear from regular members of the Sky Blues Fancast Sim and Conor on their love of the kits plus we will also look ahead to the return of football on Legend's Day at the CBS with Ryan. International break? Not for us on the Sky Blues Fancast! #PUSB

  • S3 E28: The Hangover - Part Four

Here on the Sky Blues Fancast we have been saying for weeks now (maybe months...) that IT IS ON! The Sky Blues are three points outside the top six with eight games remaining, unbeaten in nine, five wins in the last eight games, and that push for the Championship play-offs has even got the manager saying that they are daring to dream.

This week's episode of the Sky Blues Fancast looks back on the most immense 'Away Day' ever... for the nearly 4,000 members of the Sky Blue Army who went to Blackpool, for the day, for the night or for the whole weekend it's one that will be talked about for years to come. The noise was deafening, the atmosphere was buzzing and then there were some limbs as the four Coventry City goals went in.

On this week's episode Lorna is joined by the very hungover, Katie, Ryan and Anthony to look back on an incident-packed match and the whole weekend. Ben Wilson is spotted out with fans, Katie gets locked in a portable toilet and Lyndon and his drum cause all the commentary teams a nightmare! Anthony made a whole weekend of it and he's off to the zoo with his mum, but which Coventry City players might you find there...?

Goals from Ben Sheaf (on his 100th Appearance), an incredible strike from Kyle McFadzean and Matty Godden's sixth goal of the season saw Coventry City take the three points from the Seasiders. On this episode you'll hear from the Captain Kyle McFadzean on the penalty decision and his striker's goal! Plus hear from the Coventry City manager Mark Robins with his thoughts and is he also daring to dream?

Plus find out what's in store on the Sky Blues Fancast during the upcoming International break with details of next week's special Fancast.

  • S3 E27: Tom Grennan, Cov kids and SpongeBob Squarepants

On this week's episode of the Sky Blues Fancast Lorna is joined by Sim and Conor to look back at the point against Hull City at the CBS. The team look at whether that is a dent in their play-off hopes as the draw sees Coventry drop one place to ninth in the table, four points outside the top six and also reflect on the atmosphere and fans at the match as well.

Did someone say Flares? Despite creating plenty of chances and shots (25) the Sky Blues were unable to pick up a fifth win in six games. Matty Godden scored the equaliser to rescue a point, as Viktor Gyökeres, who had scored five in his previous five games, got the assist.

There's also a chance to hear from the Manager Mark Robins and one of the trio of Coventry kids, Josh Eccles, who's doing the city proud in the Sky Blues cathedral-inspired kit right now. There's something about hearing that Cov accent from our players.

And with a musician amongst the Fancast this week (Conor is from the Coventry band The Mucks) it seems as though half of Coventry went on a big night out in Birmingham for the Tom Grennan gig. Cov shirts were everywhere and the Vik song was being sung on the streets of Brum. So, which Coventry City player would Conor want at the next Mucks gig? The answer might surprise you.

Up next for the Sky Blues it's Wigan and then the away day everyone wants to be at - Blackpool! We have predictions, look-aheads and what to do in the seaside town apart from watch the football.

  • S3 E26: Cheers to 4 at John Smith's Stadium

What a trip to Huddersfield it turned out to be for the Sky Blue Army - Viktor Gyokeres got a brace and took his tally for the season to 18 as Coventry City boosted their play-off bid with a 4-0 thumping win.

This week on the Sky Blues Fancast, Lorna is joined by Sam, Ryan and Joe to look back at the goals and the atmosphere at the John Smith's Stadium as well as the experience for fans following along on ifollow.

Plus, is everyone bumping into Coventry City players at a motorway service station this week?

On this episode you will hear from the Manager Mark Robins as well as 'One of our Own' Ryan Howley looks back on his first start for the club he's been with since he was 6 years old.

Mark Robins' team are now just three points off the top six and there's plenty of excitement amongst the Fancasters about that this week, as well as the distraction of being up close and personal with the players.

Ben Wilson (17 clean sheets and counting) is on Sam's mind - well, part of him is! The team also look ahead to the next fixture which is at home to Hull City on Saturday.

  • S3 E25: Vik's 100th appearance - scoring goals is what he does best!

It was a lunchtime kick off for the 'fake rivalry' derby as Sunderland visited the CBS Arena and their poor record in the city continued.

More than 21,000 fans watch Coventry City scored a goal in each half as they made it three wins on the bounce and on the Sky Blues Fancast we are calling it that the momentum is well and truly back!

On this week's episode Lorna is joined by Ryan, Dan and Tash to reflect on the match and look ahead to two away fixtures on the bounce in the next week.

One man's name is on everyone's lips right now and it's that Big Swede, Viktor Gyokeres who scored and assisted in his 100th appearance for the Sky Blues at the weekend. He set up Jamie Allen for the opener before scoring his 16th goal of the season after he turned in Matty Godden's low right-wing cross from close range. The Fancast can't help but talk about how important he is to the team and also imagine how the perfect unveiling of a new contract for the striker could look!

In this week's episode, you'll hear from manager, Mark Robins' as well as defender Callum Doyle.

Coventry now face successive away games, a rearranged visit to Preston (where we are yet to win in the league) on Tuesday night followed by a trip to Huddersfield - Mystic Mac is back with predictions. And the last time this group of Fancasters were together it was for the Emergency Eviction Pod so there's also time to talk about how far we've come in such a short space of time.

  • S3 E24: Momentum

It was Coventry City's second win in five days and another clean sheet for Mark Robins team with goals from Jamie Allen and Viktor Gyokeres giving Coventry all three points at the New York Stadium against Rotherham. This week on the Sky Blues Fancast Lorna is with Sam, Jodi-Leigh and Alex to look back at the match which saw just over 2 thousand travelling fans bring the noise as the Sky Blues fought 'til the game was won!

Allen's goal was his sixth of the season, while 15-goal top scorer Gyokeres' strike in injury time was the icing on the cake for the Sky Blues as they kept up their surge towards the promotion places.

Momentum is back as the Sky Blues are now just four points off the play-off spots with Sunderland next. How big does that game now feel?

In this episode get a sneak peak behind the scenes of the dressing room with manager Mark Robins and hear from Jamie Allen. The Fancasters also have time to appreciate the efforts of the back room staff and especially the Assistant Manager Adi Viveash. The win at Rotherham saw Coventry end a run of four straight away league defeats. And here's another stat - it also means the Sky Blues have not lost in their last 12 games against promoted teams - a run that includes nine wins stretching back five seasons.

  • S3 E23: Twist and shoot

This week on the Sky Blues Fancast it's Sam, Kingston (from the band The Mucks) and Lynden (Singers’ Corner drummer) who joined Lorna straight after the game, by the Jimmy Hill statue to look back on the one-nil win against Millwall.

For the many of the Sky Blues Army whose first love is the football, there was no better place to spend Valentines night! There was a lot of love for Kasey Palmer and a brilliant goal from Viktor Gyökeres, which takes him up to fourteen goals this season.

The Fancasters talk the removal of the WASPS branding on seats in the stands and the warnings from the club about ‘persistent standing’.

Lorna also tracked down Lauti, the Argentinian Coventry City fan and we hear how he’s won the Premiere League for Coventry City - twice! He told Lorna how he ended up at the game and getting a signed shirt from the players, and his love for the Sky Blues Army.

Hear Coventry City Manager, Mark Robins’ post-match thoughts, plus a look ahead to the Rotherham away game.

  • S3 E22: Thank Godden for that!

    The Lawnmower is back!

This week on the Sky Blues Fancast it's Sim, Anthony and Jamie who join Lorna to look back on the point earned thanks to Matty Godden's equaliser from the penalty spot after Luton had scored inside the first minute!

Can you imagine being Argentinian, Lauti, who travelled halfway across the world to watch the team he plays as on FIFA concede inside 60 seconds?!

The Saturday fixture at the CBS Arena also saw Coventry City reduced to ten men after midfielder Josh Wilson-Esbrand was red-carded late on for a foul.

In previous episodes, the Fancast team have talked about the Fadz-shaped hole in the defence and this week there's a lot of love for Kyle McFadzean as he makes his return from injury - or is that where he's been? Anthony has a theory about how he might have been moonlighting in Happy Valley. Since recording it's been announced that he's staying until Summer 2024 so love that he can carry on for a bit longer!

You'll also hear from the Captain in this episode. The fans also look at #CBSFANWALL and what also might make some Big Screen fun at home matches!

Hear from Coventry City Manager, Mark Robins, on how the last minute reshuffle to their line-up just before kick-off impacted the team as midfielder Ben Sheaf suffered a calf injury in the warm-up meaning it was Kasey Palmer given a starting role instead. The team look at his attempt that struck the crossbar and how that played out for the fans - anyone else hear slow-mo music in their heads when things like that happen in a game?

Lorna and the Fancasters look ahead to a romantic night against Millwall at the CBS! Will the lessons from Luton help them to secure 3 points? Sim's prediction is one we all love! And talking of love being in the air on Valentines Day - Jamie has proposed since he was last on the Fancast and his fiancé has now also fallen in love with Sky Blues!

  • S3 E21: Thorn in our side

Lorna Bailey is joined by Ryan, Joe and Tash on this week’s Sky Blues Fancast - the BBC CWR podcast, with the fans, for the fans.

This week the Fancasters discuss the Doug King song doing the rounds, their karaoke jams, and the 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

How did Viktor Gyökeres not score? Should Jamie Allen have the armband? How are the new January arrivals going down at the CBS Arena? A certain Luke McNally seems a big hit so far!

Hear from manager Mark Robins and the returning Matty Godden pitch side with our team.
