The final men's major of the year is upon us and we manage to carve out a big chunk of the hour talking about the Open: what kind of challenge Birkdale presents, what to expect, which stats to look at, whether the Scottish Open will be as good a guide as usual, whether missing it matters, the history of winners here, scoring, conditions, contenders and more. We're back with another bonus top 20 and this time the question is: who are the most surprising major winners this century? It took a little while to refine this list and in the end we eliminated anyone who went on to bag another, plus a certain surprise Masters champion whose subsequent career has been blighted by injury. There's talk of a 750/1 winner in the women's game, some who were playing in their very first major, and the man who tamed the Tiger... and that's before we get to number one.

This week's Open d'Italia presents a tough decision regarding one of the favourites while we spend precisely as much time on the Travelers as is necessary i.e. very little.
