So many people are terrified of public speaking. Some have even said, “I would rather die than stand up and speak before a crowd of people.” I think it was Jerry Seinfeld who said that at a funeral these same people are glad they are not the one laying in the casket.
I don’t know about you, but I’m not one of those people. Standing before a group of people and talking gives me a high. It is where I’m energized. This tend to be true of people labeled like myself as an extrovert.
Most of the people who do not like to speak before a group of people know this about themselves even from an early age. They become terrified when asked to do something publicly.
In this episode, you’ll hear our guest – Julie Carr – share about her journey. As a young child she love the “stage.” She would organize events just so she could have the opportunity to “show-case” her talents.
Unfortunately, life events led her down a wrong path one that she is not proud of. However, she managed with God’s help to recover from it. She was committed to find herself and get back on track.
This commitment to recovery led her to rediscover her dream and the pursuit of the “stage” in public speaking.
Here are a few of the points she made:
1. Reading to create a new mindset
2. Surround yourself with better relationship
3. Discover your divine destiny
4. Don’t let fear hold you back
5. Don’t be confined by someone’s idea of retirement
