Sneaky Dragon Episode 290

Listen Later

Ian’s amazed. We’re all amazed we’ve made it this far. It’s episode 290! This week on the show, Ian and Dave talk driving and bad driving; give some old movie spoilers; rank best Snoopy characters; discuss Peanuts-related songs; ineptly guess at copyright law; watch Dave’s YouTube debut; do a bit of Beatles; go to the death disco; live through a different time; realize podcasts are bad for passwords; Ian re-experiences puberty; Dave gets jerk karma; they go all Neil Sedaka trivia (that’s different!); Ian goes commercial; he also takes a bite out of crime; Ian and Dave discuss the new Wonder Woman film in some detail (WARNING: SPOILERS from 55:00 to 1:35:00); and, finally, they get all serious and deep discussing social anxiety, their coping strategies and developing resilience.
Thanks for listening.
As always, our contests and demands for your participation continue:

* Have some dinner with Ian and Dave, and, if you want, watch Sneaky Dragon being recorded. All you have to do is send us a little message that says, “I’d like to eat with you!” and Ian and Dave will treat you to an after-show meal at their favourite White Spot.
* Send us your story. That’s right. Just your story. If you need a prompt, Ian suggested “your secret origin” and Dave suggested “how how you found Sneaky Dragon” Please record a two to three minute story and send it to us via email ([email protected]) or our Facebook page. Or Skype Sneaky Dragon and leave a message on our voicemail. David will add a playlist for your story as well.

Department of Corections:

Dave was wrong with his Neil Sedaka trivia: Sedaka recorded two albums with the not-quite-yet 10CC – Solitaire and The Tra-La Days Are Over. Neither album contained the hit “Bad Blood” (featuring Elton John on backing vocals), which David conflated with the Elton John song “The Bitch Is Back”.
Please accept our apologies. David has been made to listen to “Calendar Girl” one hundred times.
If you have never heard “Bad Blood”, it’s pretty good:

Here is that execrable Snoopy song:

There were three more Snoopy Vs. the Red Baron songs, but I will only post one more because none of them are very good:

I watched this carefully. I can’t see what Ian is talking about…

And here is Dave’s interview:
