In this week’s episode, we get to talk with Martin Lockett, a writer and speaker whose words have impacted thousands of people, even before leaving prison. He served almost 18 years for manslaughter, caused by an accident one New Year’s Eve where he drank excessively and drove through a stop light, colliding with a car carrying three people. Upon learning that the two people who died that night were volunteers in the drug and alcohol recovery community, Martin chose to honor them by dedicating his life to helping others through addiction counseling and driving and driving prevention.

Many times, addiction recovery causes people to feel more anxious than usual. For some it's a tool, others, a hindrance. Both scenarios are a completely normal experience. In this week’s episode, we dive into dealing with anxiety while in recovery.
Additionally we dive into reward based "re-wiring" as discussed in the book Unwinding Anxiety, by Judson Brewer and how that has helped John in his recovery journey.

Addiction is the opposite of connection, creativity, and imagination. While we were in the throes of our addiction we could never imagine the life we have today.
In this week’s episode, we get to talk with Blake about how the power of imagination helped him reconnect with his higher power.

For some recovering from addiction, boredom can lead to destructive behaviors and even relapse. In this week's episode, we use Shay's "mess as our message" on how to ensure boredom is used as a tool instead of a trigger.
