Leigh shares how she started her journey in recovery when having to put the bottle down due to her pregnancy.  Both she and her husband had a conversation that many new parents should have regarding the future of their new family and how they wanted to break the cycle of alcohol being so widely accepted as the norm.

This beautiful woman who competed in the World Games in Russia is now on a mission to raise awareness regarding the correlation between alcohol consumption and drunk driving deaths, rape, gender based violence and hate crimes.  Her message is loud and clear that inequality is not ok.

She shares with us some very unsettling statistics on the amount of crime happening and going unpunished due to overpopulation in the prison system and how she and her outreach is educating young people in poverty stricken communities on basic principals of right and wrong.

In this episode we take a trip to Los Angeles to visit with Actress, Producer,Director, Podcast Host and Author Brianne Davis. We dive into Sex and Love addiction and the big umbrella that encompasses many subjects under the title of SLAA including porn, sex, love, infidelity, flirting, healthy relationships and issues with commitment.

Brianne tells us of her personal experience and how she was addicted to the high of the first kiss, cheating, showmance on set and secret boyfriends and how she thought this was no big deal until it was. She tells us how she discovered she was a sex and love addict and where she started her journey to recovery.

We also discuss the pros and cons of online dating, DMS, dick pics, porn and how these things and the convenience of technology is really robbing people of ever having a healthy relationship. 

We discuss how in many cases relationships are the root problem of many other issues like addiction, alcoholism, suicide and crime and how important it is to talk about this topic and share the recovery message.

Alex tells us of her raging alcoholic days when she didn't believe she had a problem because she was still holding down a job. She was a functioning alcoholic with a daily drug habit who worked hard and partied hard because she could, It was her right.

She tells us of her incredible transformation since getting clean and sober which include losing over 100 lbs and becoming a competitive body builder. The importance of physical, spiritual and mental change is a necessary part of recovery and anything is possible!

Take a trip with us to Edmonton Alberta, Canada for this episode with Andrea from Inspo Nation 

In this episode Andrea tells us about her binge drinking, drugging and double life prior to getting clean and sober. She describes the mindset of a weekend warrior after wearing the responsibility hat Monday through Friday and then letting loose for the weekends. The cycling through different friends over the course of a weekend following the party and not wanting to be home alone with reality is a scenario many alcoholics/addicts can relate to.

Andrea and I talk about our own experiences dealing with trauma, P.T.S.D, anxiety and the survival mode of fight or flight. She tells us about some of the techniques she uses to deal with these types of situations and particularly E.F.T. Tapping that she admits to using prior to this recording to calm her social anxiety fears.

We share our thoughts and recent experiences having a bit of a mental breakdown and how it seems that many people were going through a similar situation at this time which goes to show us once again that we are not alone.

In this episode you will meet my good friend Lyer in Ridgeway, Ontario Canada. Lyer tells us about his self destructive sexual behaviors that came along with his drinking and drugging habits that would leave him with shame and remorse, yet he would continually find himself drinking or drugging again and again and how one day he attempted to end it all. 

He describes two different time frames in his life one as an alcoholic and years later with an opioid addiction after a car accident and initially being prescribed these pain meds from the doc that woke his addiction.

He details his personal experiences both in his active addiction and how wonderful his life is now in recovery. He shares what is working for him and how he continues to stay clean and sober today.

Lyer is a longtime friend of mine who I share a lot of history with. We have been room mates a couple times over the years in our drinking careers and after our friendship drifted apart for many years we reunited in recovery. Another beautiful gift of sobriety!

" Once you are a pickle you can never go back to being a cucumber"  And so it is with alcoholics and addicts, once we have crossed that line we can never return to drinking like a "normie".

In this episode Dora shares her recent and very personal experience having a complete mental breakdown. She talks through this emotional sobriety relapse, hangover and the symptoms leading up to it.

Dora talks about the insanity and racing thoughts, burring her emotions until shit eventually hit the fan. She talks about how difficult it can be to reach out for help and how her disease and ism speaks to her and tells her to keep these secrets that make her sick.
