Join us for a discussion with Ayo Afolabi, a speaker, author, consultant, and podcaster based in the UK as well as Jayson Wells, a former professional basketball player, coach and entrepreneur. We are so excited to introduce today’s episode. We had the privilege of interviewing St. Louis native Joanna Serenko. Joanna wowed the world and the judges on her opening audition for The Voice on NBC. Celebrity singer Nick Jonas stood up after her audition to "fight" for her to be on his team. In todays episode you will meet Alanna Smith. She is an Australian professional basketball player and in this episode she share’s her story. She was a 2 time all-American at Stanford University, leading her team to a national championship. She also has represented her country in international competitions on a global platform and to say the least she’s very good. Welcome to this special episode of the Social Origin Podcast. We are presenting a special series exploring business startups and the foundational principles that form the foundation for health and wellbeing. Today we are joined by clinical psychologist Valerie Ling.

Valerie Ling is the Clinical Director and founder of the Centre for Effective Living, a group psychology practise dedicated to clinical excellence in mental health and Centre for Effective Serving a training and consulting arm dedicated to workplace wellbeing and burnout prevention. Valerie is a Clinical Psychologist, speaker, published author and Clinical Supervisor with a passion for helping people find their voices and continue to write their life’s story.  She has a special interest in the prevention and treatment of burnout. Her career began as a consultant in the corporate world, working internationally in talent assessment and development. As such she is able to engage with those facing career transition or work related stress. At an organisational level Valerie is involved in consulting to optimise resiliency and mental health wellbeing. Valerie has worked with agencies to create and implement wellness programmes that target systemic burnout. She is a sought after speaker presenting industry-specific and up to date research and strategies in burnout prevention.
